Rhinoplasty review (hump nose/nasal tip

First of all, I was someone who kept worrying only about my nose because I wanted to naturally refine my overall image haha. My original nose was a hump nose + crooked nose (turns out my face itself was asymmetrical) + wide nostrils/alar base + a protruding mouth type. I had thought about nose surgery for a long time, but after watching videos of open surgery, I got scared and thought, “I could never do that...” so I just lived with it. Then around last winter, I learned about closed surgery and became interested again. Since my nose wasn’t extremely low, I first made an appointment at a closed ENT clinic that could remove just the hump and also do rhinitis surgery, because breathing through my left nostril was uncomfortable. But after the consultation, I was told, “Your nasal tip is quite low, you definitely need to do the tip,” and I liked the closed approach too, so after thinking about it for about 2 months, I booked the surgery. (Plan at that time) Hump removal + nasal tip (septal cartilage) + septoplasty + rhinitis surgery I even took vacation to match the Lunar New Year holiday, but on the day of surgery, the surgery was suddenly canceled because of a personal issue... I was seriously mentally devastated + I thought I wouldn’t have another chance this year, so I was really depressed. Then I found out about another hospital through an acquaintance, and since I had already taken vacation, I visited thinking I should at least get a consultation. Honestly, I was worried because there weren’t many reviews, but my acquaintance kept recommending it, saying, “They’re really good at nose surgery here,” and the few reviews that existed were all good, so I trusted them and went ahead. (They’re famous for revision rhinoplasty.) The pre-surgery plan was hump reduction + nasal tip (ear cartilage) + osteotomy + open surgery. Here, they said there was no problem with my septum, so we decided not to do septal surgery, and I had the surgery right away during the Lunar New Year holiday! But once they actually opened it up, they said osteotomy wasn’t necessary, so they didn’t do it, and the surgery was done as hump correction + nasal tip + slight septal correction. And the director said that once the swelling goes down, the nasal bridge could look a little uneven, but it could be supplemented later with filler. They also explained in advance that because of my facial asymmetry, it would be difficult to make it perfectly straight. It’s been about 2 months since surgery now, and since the swelling is still going down, the nasal bridge does feel slightly uneven. But I originally wanted an “extremely natural” result, so I’m satisfied even with this! People around me say my image looks much more defined, and overall my impression definitely feels more refined. Almost everyone is like, what changed? But they can’t really tell, and if I say I got nose filler, they just accept it. Honestly, I never thought I would get plastic surgery either, but now I’m so, so satisfied to the point that I wonder why I didn’t do it sooner, and my confidence has definitely gone up. Since my mouth protruded, my mouth also looks much more set back, so I think that makes my satisfaction even higher. Also, breathing through my left nostril used to be a bit uncomfortable, but is it because my nose became higher and the airway got bigger? Or because they slightly corrected my septum? I can breathe so well now. What I really want to say to people considering surgery👇 Plastic surgery clinic vs ENT clinic: their perspectives are seriously completely different. At first, I only looked at ENT clinics and thought, “I just need to shave down the hump,” but in the end, the surgery being canceled feels like it was actually a blessing in disguise. I realized why you absolutely need to go to consultations at several places. It’s obvious, but every hospital has different aesthetic standards, design direction, and prices. And for people like me who worry a lot about scars > The open-surgery scar is still slightly red, but if I use concealer, truly nobody notices. Conclusion 👉 If you’re going to do it, I think it’s better to do it properly rather than vaguely/halfway. If I had done it at the first hospital, I don’t think I would have gotten this feeling at all, and now I’m living really satisfied.
