My nose, which used to be endlessly high like Pinocchio's, is settling into place, and now when I meet people I know, they say I look more refined and prettier. It is definitely different from before, but they have puzzled expressions, not sure what exactly I had done. It has been 4 and a half months since I had costal cartilage rhinoplasty and chin augmentation for a retruded chin. It feels like just yesterday that I was whining and crying that I looked like Pinocchio or an artificial person, but now I live smiling. I really did the right thing getting cosmetic surgery!!! What I want to say to people planning to get nose surgery, or those who have only recently had it, is, "Time is medicine." A friend's younger sibling also looked like they had a bulbous nose and upturned nose when I saw them 3-4 months after surgery. After about a year, it looked so natural and pretty that I wanted to touch it. For 3 months after surgery, you just have to close your eyes and wait for time to pass. At first, you worry that something went wrong and cannot put the mirror down. It is a process everyone goes through, so just think of it that way. They say the nose needs a full year. Just as the replies gave me strength when I was going through emotional distress, I hope this can be even a little comfort to those who are suffering at this moment.
