(The before photos are mixed.) I think the surgery went well, so I wrote a completely honest review. My wish is to hear people say I’m handsome, so I decided to get double eyelid surgery (or ptosis correction?) and epicanthoplasty to fix my small, sleepy-looking eyes. I went to three large hospitals and two smaller clinics, and visited this clinic last. Dr. Kim Chae-min at this clinic was the kindest and examined me carefully for a long time, so I decided to have it done there. The surgery was natural adhesion double eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty, and it was done on August 1. I think it took about 30 minutes just to draw the surgical markings with something like a pen. Since it was my first time getting plastic surgery, I don’t know whether the line-design process took a long time or ended quickly, but to me it felt like the doctor spent a lot of time and looked at everything very carefully. It also took longer because I hadn’t clearly decided between an outer double eyelid and an inner double eyelid, but the doctor drew the line, looked from a distance, tried setting the line, looked from a distance again, and repeated this dozens of times, putting a lot of care into it. I wanted flashy, idol-like eyes, so we finally decided on a relatively high line for a man, drew the line with something like a pen, and then went into surgery. I was under sedation and asleep, but they woke me up in the middle and told me to open my eyes. This is just my guess, but I think they were probably checking things like the shape of the line. After I opened and closed my eyes a few times, the surgery was over, and I received recovery items such as a heat/cold pack and medication, then went home. Maybe because it was non-incisional, or maybe because the doctor did the surgery well, or both; anyway, there was almost no bruising or bleeding, and the symmetry turned out well. Because my eyes were swollen, it was uncomfortable to open them, but there was no pain at all around the eyelid line. The epicanthoplasty area had a tingling pain for about 3-4 days. (Not to the point where I couldn’t tolerate it or needed to take more painkillers.) The swelling went down well over time and the shape was settling, but around Day 6 I wasn’t feeling well, so I didn’t pay attention to sleeping while looking at the ceiling. I slept on my side and pressed my left eye, and the swelling in my left eye reset and it became covered in bruises. + pain For a while after surgery, sleeping while looking at the ceiling is really important, so everyone, please listen carefully to your doctor... I sent a photo of the bruised eye by text to the consultant, called and explained the situation, and was told that it would just take a little longer for the swelling to go down and that there were no special problems. When I had other questions, they answered right away if I called, and text replies came within an hour too. Follow-up care and epicanthoplasty stitch removal had no additional cost, but I wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t go to Seoul, so I had the stitches removed at a local plastic surgery clinic near my home for 40,000 won. The reason I wasn’t feeling well was that I suddenly got appendicitis, had surgery, and because of the aftereffects, it was too difficult to travel far by car. It had nothing to do with my eyes. On Day 28, I don’t know why, but my right eye swelled up. I already had a hospital appointment scheduled for Day 29, so I went in, had the progress checked, and received a scar injection for the epicanthoplasty scar on my left eye. (It really hurt, and I teared up a little.) As for only the right eye swelling, the doctor said there was nothing to do but wait for the swelling to go down over time. It is now the night of Day 30, and the swelling is definitely less in the evening, but it is still a little puffy. The Mongolian folds were also opened up naturally, and I think the line settled prettily with the idol-like look I wanted. I’m expecting it to look really good once all the swelling goes down. I’ll write another review in a month or two when the swelling goes down more.
