I had surgery yesterday, and today is day 3...!! Before surgery, I did quite a lot of research and read so many reviews before going.. I have a slight protrusion plus a retruded chin, and because I’m doing orthodontic treatment and couldn’t have protruding-mouth surgery, I only had retruded-chin surgery.. My chin was also long, so they cut off 3 mm and advanced it, and only moved it 4 mm. Even after going to consultations at several places, deciding was really difficult. One place told me to do double-jaw surgery.. Another said if I only did the retruded chin, it would look long and recommended V-line surgery.. At another consultation, I had heard they wanted to advance the retruded chin up to 6 mm, so I worried a lot, but if matching it to the lip line, it seemed like I might end up with a protruding chin, so I made up my mind to just do a little at a time, naturally.. (Did I choose well*_*; I can only hope I chose well) I think the surgery went well. It’s day 3, and of course it throbs, but it doesn’t seem to hurt that much.. On the day of surgery, after I came to my senses, I looked in the mirror and was happy because my chin had gotten shorter, but when I looked the next day, the swelling was ㄷㄷㄷㅠㅠㅠㅠ At the hospital, they said that in a week to 10 days, 80% of the swelling would go down.. Since I’m the type who swells very easily, I’m secretly worried this swelling might last a long time. (A woman whose eyes bruise and swell up even after a simple semi-permanent eyeliner procedure.. A woman who bruises even after lightly getting Botox once-_) On top of that!! I heard swelling gets worse during menstruation.. Is that true? (They say people even postpone surgery during menstruation... A woman whose period started right after surgery the next day) When I look at photos people posted saying it’s one week after retruded-chin surgery, everyone looks so pretty.. But I look like a total gourd.. like a monster I went to have the tape disinfected today, and they removed it, but the bruising on both sides of my chin is also severe.. Once the swelling goes down a bit, it’ll be okay, right?? It’s still day 3, so I should watch it a bit longer, but..
