I had SMILE LASIK in Busan about 7 years ago! From when I was a student until age 21, I kept wearing contact lenses without any problems, but around age 21, I suddenly developed a problem where the whites of my eyes would become bright red and bloodshot whenever I took out my lenses, so I started looking into LASIK surgery. At that time, SMILE LASIK had not been around for very long, so I was worried, but I heard the recovery was fast and it did not hurt, so I decided on SMILE LASIK. <Surgery review> - During the pre-surgery consultation, they said my pupils(?) were on the larger side, so I would have severe glare/halos at night, but I have none at all. - About 3 hours after surgery, my recovery was fast enough that I could go straight back to daily life. (For pain, I think I felt stinging in my eyes for about 1 hour; it did not hurt much.) - My eyes became slightly dry, but it is okay when I take lutein and wear blue-light-blocking glasses. <Side effects> !!I really hope you know this before having surgery. Looking at people around me who have had LASIK, LASEK, or SMILE LASIK, there are people with no side effects at all, but I have also seen quite a few cases where one small side effect occurred. In my case, before surgery, my eyes never felt fatigued at all, but now when I look at my phone for a long time, my eyes feel tired. Of course, even if I went back, I would still have the surgery, but I am writing this because I hope you know before having surgery.
