Swelling after an incisional procedure, usually

I had eye surgery twice with a full incision, and after about >1 year, all the swelling was completely gone and it looked natural. I had them done at two different places, and I definitely think the surgeon’s skill matters more. For my second surgery, I went to a hospital specializing in revision surgery, and it seriously finished in just 30 minutes... I was honestly so shocked.. For matching the eye symmetry, near the end the doctor just told me to open my eyes once, I opened them, and that was it.... I was really worried it would swell much more than my first surgery, but it actually didn’t swell much. I’m even 8 months post-op now, and I’m surprised because it looks so natural..

[@Monami Pen] Could you tell me why you had revision surgery and the hospital info?? I’m curious about both the first and second hospitals..

I really think swelling depends on the person. One person I know had almost half the swelling go down in just a week, while another person’s swelling didn’t fully go down until after more than a year. If you’re usually the type whose swelling goes down quickly, it’ll probably go down quickly.

One year. Honestly, saying it takes over one or two years isn’t swelling; it’s the line coming down as the fixation weakens, so I don’t think that applies. Plan on one year~

No, it starts looking natural from 1 year onward. Honestly, it needs to be 2 years.

1 year is at least better. But it keeps getting more natural lol

I know incisional procedures really take a long time. I didn’t do a full incision; at Saegim, I had a partial incision, ptosis correction, and canthoplasty in 3 areas together, and after half a year it finally feels like my own eyes. Since incisional procedures take some time to recover, I think that’s why everyone tries to do the buried-suture method.

[@Mirumeru] It’s tough, but it’s true.. Unless you make the line thin, it’s really obvious But it comes out well in photos.
