I first had rhinoplasty with silicone 10 years ago. There was only some external change, and functional aspects were not considered at all, so there were many inconveniences and I regretted it a bit.. I should have done everything at once lol When I lay down at night or felt tired, severe nasal congestion would come, and breathing became uncomfortable, so my quality of life dropped a lot, and the need for functional rhinoplasty kept growing. Also, my nasal tip had drooped slightly, and my nasal bridge felt vaguely more pressed down than before, so because I wanted to raise the bridge a bit more than now, I found a clinic that could do both functional and cosmetic surgery and had revision surgery. I replaced the existing silicone with a custom implant, and for the nasal tip, I had surgery using both septal cartilage and donated costal cartilage. They said doing it this way could stabilize both the shape and structure while making the nose shape I wanted. And the line turned out natural, just like the nose shape I had imagined, with the nasal tip nicely refined, I guess? For a revision, recovery also seemed faster than expected, and the nasal congestion symptoms really improved noticeably.. I realized this is why people get functional rhinoplasty, and since I like the external part much more than before too, I feel like even though it was a revision, I am glad I did it? lol Revision surgery is probably burdensome and something anyone would think a lot about, but if you receive it from a skilled director, I think you can get much higher satisfaction than with the first surgery.
