I booked an appointment to remove my silicone implant..

After months of just worrying about it, I finally had a consultation last Saturday and booked the appointment. I had an L-shaped silicone implant put in back in 2001, and it seemed like it had moved down toward the nasal tip and looked bulging. So I went back to the hospital where I had the surgery before, and they said, “It looks pretty and fine now, why would you remove it? Since you’re here, just get Botox before you go.” -_-;; So I came back for the time being. I live in the Gangbuk area, so I kept wondering whether I really had to go all the way to Gangnam just for removal. After a lot of thought, I went to a specialist clinic near my home for a consultation, thinking it should be okay as long as they were a specialist. When I got to the clinic, the doctor said I had come at the right time, that deciding to remove it now was a very good choice, and that the silicone had descended a lot. They said that soon it could start protruding like sebum, and while scratching and peeling that off, I might even see the silicone poking out.. But because it’s L-shaped, they said it has to be removed through an open approach. At the hospital where I originally had it done, they had said they could remove it non-open under local anesthesia in 5 minutes.. When I told this doctor that, they said if the original hospital said that, it might be possible to try.. but if it doesn’t go well with the non-open approach, they can open it then... I thought that might make the scar bigger, so I asked them to do it open from the start. (But I’m slightly unsure about this too.. I’m an office worker, and my company has about a week off at the end of the year, so I’m doing it during that period.. I’m worried that if I do it open, the scar won’t disappear within a week..) I think I need to think about this a bit.. Whether to remove it open from the very beginning, or try non-open first and then switch to open.. But the doctor keeps recommending that, since they’re opening it anyway, I remove the implant, take ear cartilage, lift only the nasal tip, and tie the cartilage.. They said they would do it at about the low cost of a first surgery.. and that if I were their daughter or relative, they would definitely recommend doing it that way.. They said that after living with a high nose for 10 years, if I remove it overnight, I probably won’t be able to tolerate feeling like my nose has dropped too much.. Hmm.. honestly, I’m a bit conflicted. I was planning to remove it completely and live comfortably for the rest of my life(?), but honestly, whenever I see pretty celebrities on TV, I think I’ll start worrying about it.. But I’m also scared of living with a stiff nose again.. I miss a soft, squishy nose so much that sometimes I press my kids’ noses and my husband’s nose.. hahaha;; I had made up my mind to just remove it and live comfortably while taking care of my skin.. but I’m wavering just a little.. My husband and my mom are also encouraging me, asking what I think about doing the nasal tip too... I wonder if the shape would be okay if I only did the nasal tip.. since I didn’t originally have no nasal bridge... Anyway, since there are about ten days left until my removal appointment, I think I’ll be thinking about it a lot.. If the doctor had seemed like the type who just smelled(?) like they were after money, I wouldn’t even be worrying and would have said I’d only remove it. But they spoke in a genuinely concerned tone, and even though there were many people waiting, they gave me a long consultation.. When I asked each thing I had written down because I was curious, they drew pictures, then even opened a specialist textbook and showed me photos one by one while explaining in detail... I think I’ll look for reviews from people who only left ear cartilage in the nasal tip, or who had only ear cartilage from the beginning, and think about it some more..
