They just do exactly what the patient asks for. My epicanthoplasty was botched, and I thought I absolutely needed a lot of restoration, so I asked them to close it so the red lacrimal caruncle would not be visible. The result was that it was closed too much, so it became overcorrected even more than my original eyes before epicanthoplasty. For most people’s eyes, it is normal for the lacrimal caruncle to be visible, but it was my fault for being blinded by restoration at the time and making a strange request… Still, I think the doctor could have understood how abnormal my request was and strongly advised me against it Of course, afterward they acknowledged the overcorrection and did the secondary canthoplasty for free.
