The ones below are from one month post-op>There still seem to be a lot of people who think that if you get incisional double eyelid surgery, recovery is always slow and the line is fixed too deeply, so they don’t like it So I’m posting some recent photos of myself and speaking my mind a bit I also intentionally attached a few photos taken by someone else with the default camera so it would look more realistic When I was seriously looking into double eyelid surgery, it felt like some kind of trend Everyone kept talking only about non-incisional methods like natural adhesion and buried suture, so I vaguely thought, hmm.. since it’s my first surgery, maybe non-incisional would be possible for me too? But after going around for consultations myself, I realized you absolutely shouldn’t approach it simply like: making a double eyelid = non-incisional is possible. You have to carefully check everything one by one, like the amount of fat on your upper eyelids, skin condition, whether there is any sagging, and whether canthoplasty would look excessive, and then decide on surgery.. In that sense, rather than a very large hospital, I recommend a private clinic that gives thorough one-on-one consultation and care I went around to several places, but at large hospitals where hundreds of people come and go in a day, it really isn’t easy for them to focus on just one person during consultation.. That was the biggest reason I had surgery here Not only do they have various aftercare options like swelling injections and swelling laser treatments, but among the private clinics I visited, this was the only place where the doctor personally checked my progress after surgery and guaranteed after-service for up to 3 years Anyway, since I had thick eyelid fat and when they tried making a line, it had almost no holding power, I got incisional double eyelid surgery and ptosis correction together At first, I was also really worried recovery would be slow.. But as I said earlier, it was nice that when I went to the clinic after surgery, I could receive aftercare consistently, and rather than the double eyelid line I saw at week 1 or 2, the double eyelid that settled in after about one to two months looked much prettier to me Even though it was incisional, it didn’t feel burdensome at all.. Acquaintances seeing me for the first time would ask me if my double eyelids weren’t natural. That’s how there’s no scar X no obvious surgery look X no unnatural feeling X none at all!! Of course, recovery speed can differ depending on the person, and depending on how the line is designed, some people can look natural and some can look more glamorous, right? From the start, the look I wanted was naturalness, and I think it worked out even better because that matched perfectly with the doctor Lastly, to summarize, when looking for a hospital for surgery, 1. A hospital where communication is good 2. A hospital without overtreatment 3. A hospital with a well-established aftercare and after-service system 4. A hospital with a kind consultant ^^ I think if you choose with these in mind, you won’t fail~ Number 4 is.. from my personal feelings.. I included it because the consultant who took care of me from consultation through after surgery really looked after me like an older sister and explained this and that so well After surgery, the people we communicate with the most are the consultant and the doctor, so everyone, please don’t rush into surgery with that uneasy feeling of “something feels a bit off..” I hope you find a kind hospital that also does surgery well and get both things at once!
