Hello. About 9 years ago, I had double eyelid surgery with the buried suture method at a plastic surgery clinic in Apgujeong. It was a method where the thread was placed inside so that no marks would show even when I closed my eyes. At first, I felt some resistance to the idea of going from monolids to double eyelids, so I liked that it looked really natural. But exactly 4 years later, one morning when I opened my eyes and looked in the bathroom mirror, my right double eyelid had disappeared After living with double eyelids, I couldn’t live with monolids anymore. So I went to another plastic surgery clinic in Apgujeong (recommended by a friend) and had an epicanthoplasty + incisional double eyelid surgery, and I’m very satisfied with the result. If you’re going to timidly choose buried sutures like I did, just go boldly with incision. I don’t know if it’s just me, but buried sutures eventually come undone someday.
