Review of scar reconstruction surgery for medial epicanthoplasty scars after 3 years of deliberation

I’m someone who has had partial-incision double eyelid surgery, medial epicanthoplasty, and posterior/lower canthoplasty all done. On both sides of my medial epicanthoplasty area, I had scars shaped like hooks, like they had been poked with a fingernail. Every time I took photos, I erased the scars with retouching, and it wasn’t just the scars. The area felt hollowed out, like something was empty, so I really hated when people stared directly at my eyes. You know there aren’t many places that do reconstruction surgery, right? I went to two well-known places, and both directors were fine, but the first place said it had to be done with laser and that there wouldn’t be a big change in the shape. The consultant also felt too vague and disconnected... So I wasn’t really satisfied. At the second hospital, I had actually gone for a consultation once before, and the director was very clear, had a lot of before-and-after photos of medial epicanthoplasty reconstruction, and every time we consulted, it felt like they were sincere + everything I wanted was possible. So I decided on the second hospital, and they pulled the skin to remove the scars while opening it a little more and correcting the shape too. I’m still only 3 months post-op now, so it’s a little red. But when I wear makeup, the scars don’t show at all, and I’m so happy... ++ I’m a huge scaredy-cat, so I really hate feeling nervous about whether surgery will hurt or be difficult. I paid a lot of attention to that part too, and the director is just such a sweet man... It didn’t hurt at all, and here there is only one consultant and one director, and only one or two nurses, so it felt like they were focused only on me. If there’s anyone who has medial epicanthoplasty scars, dislikes factory-style clinics, doesn’t like the shape of their medial epicanthoplasty, or feels like the area looks oddly wide open and empty, this is a hospital I’d want to recommend. Oh, and aside from medial epicanthoplasty scars, the director also has a lot of experience removing congenital epicanthal hook folds. If you’re deliberating about it, definitely get the surgery.
