I didn’t know when I was just living normally, but looking back, these days I feel that my malocclusion was really quite severe. Since my jaw is on the small side, I’ve had 4 premolars and 2 wisdom teeth extracted (I’ll probably have all the remaining wisdom teeth removed too). Because my tooth roots are weak, even though it’s been almost 2 years since I started orthodontic treatment, progress in moving my mouth inward(?) has been very slow. Still, I do think my face shape and overall impression have definitely changed a lot. Because my snaggle teeth were severe, I developed black triangles in my lower teeth but that’s something that can’t be helped Still, if people around me say they want orthodontic treatment, I tell them to just live as they are. Unless it’s a really severe case, you have to pay attention to retainers for life, and I don’t think it’s very good for dental health either. I’m used to it now, so it’s okay, but in the beginning it was really very hard. I’m really jealous of people with healthy teeth and good structure.
I want to get my braces off and finish treatment soon!
