Nose Re-Surgery

Six-month review after my fourth revision rhinoplasty, functional rhinoplasty, bulbous-nose correction, and alar reduction

Hello!! It has already been six months since surgery, so I came to write a review, haha. My nose seems to have settled to some extent, so I wanted to record how it has changed 😊 This was actually my fourth revision rhinoplasty. I had previously had surgery using ear cartilage and silicone, and even rib cartilage, but the silicone still looked as if it might pierce through the tip, and my nose also looked upturned, which caused me a lot of stress. Because I had already had several surgeries, undergoing another one felt burdensome, but I did not want to keep living with it, so I started researching again. This time I wanted a moderately high, natural straight-line profile rather than a very high or glamorous nose. Hoping this would truly be my last revision, I had surgery with Dr. A at [Clinic A], haha. I also had bulbous-nose correction, alar reduction, columella-lip correction, columella refinement, and functional rhinoplasty, so listing it all makes it sound like I did a lot, lol. During the consultation, I explained my previous surgeries and the shape I wanted in detail, asked about everything I was curious about, and then decided. Now, six months after revision rhinoplasty, much of the swelling has gone down and the line feels far more natural than at first. Most of all, I disliked how sharp and upturned the tip looked before, but now it is closer to the straight-line profile I wanted, which satisfies me most. From the front, perhaps because I had bulbous-nose correction and alar reduction together, the tip is less blunt and the nostrils look less spread, so I feel much less stressed when taking photos. I also had functional rhinoplasty, and breathing is much, much easier than before!! Having undergone several revision surgeries, I worried that the shape might change again over time, but so far at six months I am satisfied. I only realized after this surgery that with bulbous-nose correction and alar reduction, it is important not simply to make things smaller but to choose a size that suits your face. I am also quietly pleased that functional rhinoplasty made breathing easier. People who have had several surgeries like me probably search through countless reviews—I did too. So what I especially want to say in this six-month review is that it is best to describe the line you want as specifically as possible!! I had bulbous-nose correction, alar reduction, and functional rhinoplasty together, but since it has only been six months, I will continue watching the progress. Still, these days I have much less stress about my nose and am living happily. I will come back with another progress review later!!
