It has been about 2 weeks since the surgery!! I had written a post before saying I was going to have it done at T** Plastic Surgery, and I replied that I would write a review. But in the end, I did not have it done at T**. No, I didn’t... I had it done at B** Plastic Surgery, and I am very satisfied. The reason I am writing this post is so that people like me won’t suffer the same kind of harm, so I’m writing it. I had booked T** Plastic Surgery since last year and managed to set a date after a lot of difficulty, and I waited for that day with nothing else on my mind. Before the surgery, I had a thorough consultation with the director. He also showed me the line and height directly in Photoshop, and he explained everything about my nose. Because I had previously had nose filler injections, I thought that a glamorous, high bridge would suit my image, so I politely asked, “Could you raise the line a little more?” but all I got was a cold reply, as if I was being a bother: “Should I explain your nose again?” At that time, I thought, “Well, they’re well-known, so they’ll do a good job,” and ended the consultation after saying okay. After that, I tried in my own way too, going into T**’s site and reading all the reviews, and looking at the doctor’s philosophy and surgical methods. Four months later, my surgery date was approaching, and since I work, I had already cleared out a full week of leave to match the surgery date. People who work know this, but it is not easy to leave a whole week open just for plastic surgery! I managed, with difficulty, to free up time starting four months in advance, and I also booked accommodation for about 300,000 won. Because I live in Busan, I brought a lot of luggage and went all the way up to Seoul to prepare... On the day of the surgery, I got up early, arrived on time, waited, signed the consent form for surgery, removed nose hair and received an IV, and kept waiting while wearing the patient gown. Before going into the operating room, I met the director. Before going into surgery, I was scared and also unnecessarily anxious. I kept worrying whether it would go well, whether the line I was imagining would match the Photoshop design the director had drawn. The director said nothing and was choosing the silicone implant. I was anxious. It felt like I was about to be sent straight into the operating table, so I said politely to the director, “Director, I like a glamorous style, so I’d appreciate it if you could do that for me.” Then, with a sigh, he said, “What do you mean by glamorous? What kind of vague question is that?” He made me feel embarrassed with such a vague question. Since it was before surgery, I smiled and said, “You’re right, that is vague.” He sighed again, pulled out the Photoshop file from before, and asked me what I wanted to do here. I said, “I really like the line. I’d just like it a little higher.” Then he laughed and set the silicone implant down, saying I should go home because surgery could not be done today... sigh... Right after he said that, I apologized and begged for about 20 minutes, saying I was fine and wanted to have the surgery. With an IV still in my right arm, I kept saying I was sorry and that I had just said one thing because I was anxious and scared before surgery, so he didn’t need to take it too seriously.. I have never begged that hard in my life.. While I was using up all my strength on the operating table, he said he had no energy left and told me to just go home... No.. I had prepared for this day for nearly a year... I still feel upset when I think about that time... I had already told my workplace, and I had arranged everything for the trip and the stay in Busan. When I kept apologizing and asking him to let me have the surgery, he said, “People even come to see me from overseas, so do you think I’d change my mind because you came from Busan?” I kept apologizing, and then the nurse removed the IV and told me to go, so I came out with all my luggage. I sat in a daze in front of the place for an hour, and then the manager called me. She said, “Haha, you’re not sulking, right?” I was speechless... She said the director felt bad about just sending me away, so he would do the surgery again two days later. Honestly, I had little to lose at that point, so I said okay. It really was like grabbing at a straw. And the manager said the director is very sensitive before surgery, so it would be better not to say anything. I said okay and went back to the accommodation with my luggage... But little by little I got angrier, and leaving the surgery itself aside, I started thinking this was really not right. I had arranged my work and accommodation to fit perfectly, and because he was in a bad mood, my whole plan got thrown off two days later. At minimum, I think a plastic surgeon should listen to the patient’s opinion first. If that nose was not possible, there should have been an explanation that would help the patient understand why it was not possible. But to get offended by a single comment and tell a patient who had prepared for a year, right before going into surgery, to go home, I do not think that person is qualified to be a doctor.... The next day I called the manager and said I absolutely could not go through with the surgery. Fortunately, I was able to get a consultation at B**. When I met the director and told him about the nose I was aiming for, he explained in detail from A to Z why that would not work and what he would do instead, and I even gained trust in him, so I scheduled the surgery for the week after next. In the end, I had to cancel the accommodation and did not get a full refund, and there were travel expenses and mental distress too.. The reason I am writing this with my hand getting sore is not because I am writing out of resentment. I never even claimed the travel or lodging costs from T**. It’s just that many people were curious. If I didn’t write this, I felt like there might be another victim like me... Thank you for reading such a long post. I think the surgery went well now, and I am very, very satisfied.
