When the swelling and edema were severe, they removed the stitches in two separate sessions. After the stitches were removed, the swelling and edema surprisingly disappeared right away. On day 5 after surgery, the stitches at the lower part were removed, and on day 8, the stitches at both outer ends were removed. The nurses who helped with the stitch removal were also kind and did their best to help me stay as comfortable as possible. Now, one month after surgery, I have an appointment scheduled for the doctor to check my progress in person, and I am satisfied because the care after surgery is thorough. Right now, I have a little overall facial swelling and redness in the canthoplasty area. I think it will settle naturally with time, so I sometimes drink pumpkin juice and apply ophthalmic ointment. I still have no pain or soreness, but I do feel a pulling sensation from the thread at the outer corner of my eyes, so I am careful when washing my face or putting in contact lenses. The surgical area is still red, but when I look in the mirror, I can clearly see a more refreshed eye shape, and I am spending each day in a good mood.
