It was the most famous hospital for under-eye fat repositioning, and the director had also published the only paper on it at the time, so I just went ahead and had it done here without consulting elsewhere. The director is a little irritable, or to put it badly, not very polite. Maybe because they're already famous and have no commercial greed? The manager was overly friendly, and even if I went somewhere else to get it done, they said I definitely needed repositioning rather than just removing fat. After the surgery, while I was coming in for follow-up and swelling management, I heard what sounded like a heated argument between a dissatisfied patient and the director. He told the patient to look at the pre-op photos and said the result was a huge improvement, while sighing heavily. Lately, my right under-eye area seems a little more prominent than the left, and I find myself wondering whether they'll say the same thing when I go in for follow-up. My double-eyelid surgery was incisional, but the scar was fine. Still, I hated having uneven eyes so much that I eventually had a secondary buried-suture procedure^-^ Back then they additionally recommended an epicanthoplasty, and said it might be good to add a bit of fat under the eyes, but since I was young, they suggested thinking about that later.
