I had braces for 3 years, and I really went through a lot: 4 teeth extracted, 4 screws placed in the roof of my mouth, and a device to widen my upper jaw too. Still, I cut everything into pieces and ate whatever I could, so instead of losing weight I kept eating stubbornly and got through it. I was so severely misaligned that I don't regret getting orthodontic treatment at all. But it turns out braces don't make your jaw go back in. If anything, as my mouth moved back a bit, my jaw felt even more prominent ^_ Everyone, good luck with braces,,
