Before <before surgery> after after after <after surgery> I’d been stressed about my blunt bulbous nose since I was little, but when I was a student I couldn’t even think about it because of my parents’ opposition and lack of money. Once I became an adult and started earning my own money, I gradually started saving up for the cost of nose surgery. As the saying goes, it was money I saved with blood and sweat, so I couldn’t just get surgery at any random hospital, and what I used as references while looking into hospitals was

I read every review I could find thoroughly. Even if one community keeps saying a place is great, if there are few mentions and few reviews when I check another community, I’d hesitate to go there... So I tried to find a place with lots of reviews from different sources, where the post-op design matched my taste.
As I said before, my biggest concern was >>>a bulbous nose<<<, so I looked for a surgeon who could clearly correct the bulbous tip and make the bridge all the way to the tip straight and refined, and whenever I went around for consultations, they said I was a case that would be hard to fix with ear cartilage alone, so they recommended rib cartilage. The hospital I had surgery at let me hear the explanation and decide for myself whether to use donor rib or autologous rib, which I liked.
My decision was... I ultimately had surgery with autologous rib cartilage! Even though it was my first surgery, I wanted this to be my last one, so I had the nose surgery, and because selecting rib cartilage was unavoidable if I wanted the design I wanted, autologous rib cartilage felt less likely to sag and less bothersome than donor rib... (That’s just my personal difference, so everyone should get the surgery they want!)
I’ve always bruised easily, so right after surgery I had quite a bit of bruising and swelling, but every time I went in for follow-up checks, the surgeon carefully looked after me, and since plastic surgery isn’t something that settles in after only a week or two, I waited until at least the 1-month mark. After the first few weeks, I think my recovery was fast, so I didn’t have major worries!
And one thing I’ve painfully realized after nose surgery is that it seems best to have the surgery done so the nose shape matches the rest of my face well.. People around me also said it suits my face overall harmoniously, and that the bulbous nose was corrected a lot, so it seems even better. Now that the previously wide nose tip has become slim and sharply lifted, I’m satisfied with that too!
There was a time when I was stressed out so much by my nose that I kept wavering between fillers and surgery, but if you want a definite change in nose shape, surgery seems to be the answer..... Especially for people like me with a severe bulbous nose!! Keep that in mind and do your research well to choose the design you want. I’m satisfied not only with the consultation but also with the follow-up checks after surgery, so I think this was the choice I regret the least this year ^.^
