I previously had double eyelid surgery with a partial incision, but one side completely came undone, so it really bothered me and stressed me out. I was looking up videos about revision surgery on YouTube, then made a consultation appointment right away and visited. I went to two places: one clinic where I had consulted for my previous surgery, and Hani Plastic Surgery Clinic.
The first clinic I went to was the place that had recommended an incisional method for my first surgery, and this time I was considering incision, so I visited after making a reservation. There were a lot of people, so even though I had an appointment, I waited a little. The director held a line once and gave me an estimate, but just like before, when I talked again afterward with the consultant, there was this unspoken pressure? like they kept wanting me to pay a deposit right away and set a date, so I passed for the moment and went to the second clinic.
I arrived on time for my appointment, so there was no additional wait, and they said the clinic newly opened this year. I liked that it was clean and had a calm atmosphere. I definitely knew what kind of eyes I disliked, but I didn’t really have a specific celebrity’s eyes that I wanted,, so when they asked if I had a desired style, I told them I wasn’t sure. Then they held the lines one by one and told me to choose the one I liked best, adjusting the line several times step by step. They didn’t just hold lines blindly; they explained each thing in detail, like why this wouldn’t work and why that would come undone, so it was good for deciding on a style. And the line coming undone was an issue, but I was also stressed because the degree of canthoplasty on both sides was slightly different. After we had mostly finished discussing the line, the moment I started saying, “The inner corners of both eyes...” they immediately said the degree of canthoplasty was different and that it could also be corrected this time, and consulted me on it right away. They also didn’t seem like someone who excessively recommends unnecessary surgery. Usually when I go for consultations, the consultants are kinder, but here the director was really, really kind. Since it’s revision surgery, I definitely had a lot of concerns, but after meeting the director, I felt I could trust them and leave it to them, so I paid the deposit right away and even scheduled the surgery date before leaving.
Also, if you’re going for an in-person consultation, I think it’s best to say everything you want and anything that bothers you even a little. The directors will explain the parts that can’t be done, and I think those points also help you compare between clinics.
