My eyes are sunken, with slight lagophthalmos (if I make an effort, they close all the way)
It’s been quite a while since I had double eyelid surgery, and I’m thinking about revision surgery because it feels like the double eyelid is getting covered by my upper eyelid + the lines are uneven! I went to consultations at 4 places, but what they said was so different that I’m completely confused..
1 - Ptosis correction needed (they said the lagophthalmos wouldn’t get worse), but there’s so little extra skin that my eyes are almost at the “extreme case” stage 2 - Surgery not recommended; ptosis correction seems necessary, but because I have lagophthalmos, they can’t do ptosis correction; there’s not much they can change 3 - Ptosis correction needed (they said the lagophthalmos wouldn’t get worse); there is some extra skin; they said the lagophthalmos is due to an issue with the internal muscles?; they made it sound like it wasn’t a difficult surgery 4 - Ptosis correction needed (they said since I have lagophthalmos, it should only be done slightly); because there isn’t enough extra skin, they said my eyes are difficult, and they couldn’t really give a firm answer until the end of the consultation; the two-line dissection method was mentioned
I went to places that are supposedly well-known for revision surgery, but this is so hard The surgical methods were also a little different at all 4 places Are my eyes the type that shouldn’t have surgery at all..? I’m worried I’ll get side effects from doing it for no reason.. I still have consultations left at other places, so I’m going to go to more..
Honestly, based on the consultation alone, I liked place 3 the most?? They accurately and neatly summarized exactly what I wanted! But when I think about the consultations at the other places, I also feel like maybe I shouldn’t do it there...
