This is my 2-week review after removing pins from the anterior zygoma and anterior chin! A year ago, I had zygoma and chin-tip surgery at another clinic and was debating whether to remove the pins, but since I like active sports, I thought it could be dangerous if I got injured later, so I had them removed!
Anyway, I read reviews of several clinics for pin removal and also considered doing it at the clinic where I had my original surgery, but that place was factory-style, so I felt they might take a simple procedure like pin removal too lightly and not do it meticulously. I was choosing a one-doctor clinic, and although it had not been open long, it had many good pin-removal reviews, so I chose a facial-contouring clinic.
The surgery was done under sedation anesthesia, and I think it took less than an hour. On the day of surgery, since it was still surgery, there was some pain, but it was at a level that got better after taking painkillers. Swelling peaked up to day 4 and started going down from day 5. (Compared with facial contouring surgery, the swelling was absurdly minimal... I think you can consider it about the level of swelling at 2 weeks after facial contouring.)
I stopped wearing a mask from day 7, and people at work did ask, but I just said I had my wisdom tooth removed If you don’t want it to show at all, you need about 10 days. Now it’s day 16, and my face feels completely like before; sensation and the firm tissue texture are only noticeable if I touch it myself.
And the best part is that the director who operated on me sutured it so neatly that once the scabs fell off, it healed really smoothly and is barely noticeable. I recommend it as a clinic for pin removal~
