I had orthognathic surgery to improve a long-face shape It is now over 4 months, and I am so, so happy lately
Honestly, this was really for cosmetic bimaxillary surgery rather than function, so I thought it over a lot. If I had known my face length would shorten this much, I should have decided earlier I skipped presurgical orthodontic setup and had surgery right away~
Before surgery, whenever I took a selfie, I always edited to correct the face length first. Now I don’t do that anymore; I just make my skin look brighter/whiter
Right after surgery, in the beginning, I was annoyed because I couldn’t eat what I wanted, and since the swelling didn’t go down, I felt like it might last forever, but it all passes~ everyone I can go about daily life, walk a lot, and go out, so it seems to subside quickly? Go out more!! If you keep walking, swelling also goes down well! At this stage, I think all swelling will be gone within a year.
And a tip for choosing a hospital! I think it is best to choose a surgeon you can communicate with clearly. A place where they don’t get snappy about what I say and don’t nitpick it! I liked the doctor’s personality, and the manager/consultant’s counseling was also good. A place with good back-and-forth, honesty, and kindness is the best...
