Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

I had surgery at the hospital my parents found for me

Before/after title: I had surgery at the hospital my parents found for me

After I became an adult, I thought I might be able to solve the complex I had about my jaw through orthodontic treatment, so I went to famous specialized orthodontic dental clinics one by one, but every place said it was a surgical case, so honestly I was scared of surgery and just left it alone and kept living like that. I often used to take photos while hiding my chin habitually, but my parents looked at the photos, found a hospital for me to have surgery at, and made a consultation appointment. The hospital my parents found was Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Because my parents had looked into it for me, I went with trust, and after I had the consultation and looked up reviews, I felt even more confident in the hospital. But since it was not a small surgery, I kept worrying, but people who had surgery said it would be better to do it when you are a little younger, and that satisfaction after surgery is high, so I decided to go ahead with it.

8/26 Two-jaw surgery, contouring x2 (square jaw, chin) surgery day (day 1) I ate meat to the point of bursting the day before, then fasted after 12 o’clock. My family and I arrived at the hospital around 9, checked the wafer carefully again, changed clothes, had a consultation, and went into the operating room around 10:30. After going in and lying down, when I came to, I was in the hospital room. Not being allowed to sleep until 8 o’clock was harder than the pain. Antibiotics went into the IV midway, and I really almost passed out. The nurse saw me like that and from then on gave it to me little by little, so it was much better. My mother stayed until the end and went home, and the duty nurse changed my ice packs and the drain and everything else for me, so I think I slept for an hour, woke up, slept again, and repeated that. Breathing was fairly okay.

Day 2 In the morning they removed the urinary catheter and the drain, and I didn’t really feel anything. The director told me to practice biting the wafer and said I could drink water and New Care, so I tried, but my throat stung so much that I could barely drink. Since I was on an IV, I was okay enough just staying there. They kept changing my ice packs properly, so I just watched YouTube, walked a little in the ward, and wandered around the hospital. That night, breathing was actually pretty good at first, but midway it got so hard to breathe that when I told the duty nurse I was having trouble breathing, they gave me something like an oxygen supply tube, and it got resolved. And I kept coughing, so I tried my best to hold it in, but it was hard to suppress. The nurse told me to hold it in as much as possible, so I tried. I listened to the explanations that were given because discharge was the next day, and held on until the next morning.

Day 3 On discharge day I received swelling laser treatment, heard the rest of the explanations, got the medication added to the IV, then the IV was removed. The director asked if I was okay, and I just gave a thumbs-up, changed clothes, and came out. My parents picked me up, and I went home with them by car. On the way home I kept drooling, so I had tissues attached to me. Once I got home, eating was actually the harder part, and that was painful. I put New Care and blended banana or sweet potato into a sauce container I had bought on Coupang and drank that. I couldn’t take medicine with water at all, so I took it together with Pocari.

Days 4-7 Taking medicine was painful. Even when I put meals and New Care into the sauce container to eat, it still wasn’t enough, so I passed out once in the middle. From day 5 onward, I started using warm compresses. And I walked for about 1 hour every day.

Day 8 I went to the hospital for disinfection. I thought I had brushed pretty well, but they said the scab on the roof of my mouth hadn’t come off, so I should brush more carefully.,, hng,, awkward,, I also received swelling laser treatment and came home to rest well.

Days 9-14 My nose opened up and I slept slightly propped up. From this point on I was feeling a bit better, so on days 13 and 14 friends came over, I met them and hung out, and I also went to the PC room. My energy was a bit low and I had lost almost 10 kg, so I went to an internal medicine clinic and received nutrient fluids through an IV.

Day 15 I went to the hospital, had the stitches removed, and got swelling laser treatment. Stitch removal hurts, but not to the point where you can’t bear it. The director said, "It’ll sting," and it does hurt. From this day on, I drove myself there.

Day 16 - now Definitely, except for the area around the philtrum, the swelling seems to have gone down a lot. My face shape has definitely changed too. The weather has been so hot lately that I haven’t been going for walks much and have just been playing games at home, ordering Blast from Baskin-Robbins, and eating porridge diligently. I want to eat tasty food soon. Still, these days I feel proud of my changed appearance and the face that keeps changing day by day, and I’m also having all sorts of happy thoughts. I want to eat chewy food soon. If you have any questions, please leave a comment!
