First of all, rather than wanting a pretty nose like a celebrity’s, my nose was just too big on my face.... My need was that I wanted the size of my nose to be reduced.
- When I wear glasses, my nose stands out. Especially with sunglasses, it’s even more like that... (Only my nose shows, like toy glasses with a nose attached) - When I take photos with the default camera, my nose looks even bigger.... This was the decisive reason I decided I had to get surgery. (There’s a limit to reducing it with an app. Since acquaintances know my real face, if I reduce it too much with Photoshop, it also looks too obvious) - If I don’t contour my nose, the completeness of my face makeup drops (rather than the nose shape, its presence is so big that if I don’t contour my nose, it looks strangely floating and out of place) - When I use a sheet mask pack, my nose doesn’t get fully covered... (humiliating)
If you have the same concerns as me, doesn’t everyone think about rhinoplasty at least once?
Then why did I endure it without doing it for over 3n years? I had actually gone to several plastic surgery consultations before. Every 2 years or so, I would get the urge for cosmetic surgery, so at those times I went to consultations at several famous plastic surgery clinics (mostly after seeing ads). But strangely, each place recommended different surgeries. One place told me to put in silicone and raise the nasal tip, another told me to do osteotomy, shave down the hump, and put in autologous costal cartilage or cartilage.... Of course, if I did as they said, I would probably become prettier, right?
But the reason I hesitated was that, first of all, I had no intention of touching the nasal bridge. As I said earlier, a straight, pretty nose is nice too, but my need was for my nose to have less presence on my face. When I look at people around me who had rhinoplasty, contracture came and revision surgery seemed basically standard. Since there are also a few people around me who had their nose done and then had revision surgery, I felt this wasn’t an issue that would end with just one surgery.
So I searched again, focusing on alar reduction. Then I chose the most famous clinic for this, and without even thinking of going for consultations elsewhere, I had same-day surgery and came back.
The biggest reason I decided on surgery was that the consultant immediately caught my concerns and explained the direction for improvement really well. She gave me trust and explained everything in detail, so there was no reason not to do it. And needless to say, the director’s skill was the most important part...
<Surgery review> After consulting with the consultant, I took before photos, had a brief consultation with the director, and went straight in. Lying down, they gave local anesthesia to my nose..... and this really hurt. Tears just flowed from my eyes on their own, and it was really, really painful I kept thinking that to become prettier, I had to endure even pain like this, so I endured it.. It’s hard to become prettier... In the middle, when they were suturing, I felt pain, so I got more anesthetic injections midway and continued. Everyone, if it hurts, you have to show that it hurts. Don’t endure it~! After doing one side of the nose, the director held up a mirror midway and let me check, and comparing it with my original nose, I once again felt that my nose really had been severely big hahaha Long live medical technology!! Long live the director!!
<Immediately after surgery> The philtrum area felt numb, and since anesthesia was still active, I didn’t feel pain in the surgical area. I went home by public transportation, and I was flustered because blood suddenly flowed out on the way hahaha By the time I got home, the anesthesia slowly started wearing off and it throbbed. And what was fascinating was that Face ID couldn’t recognize me When I got home, I registered it again. And at night, my philtrum and alar area kept throbbing, and even if I put in just a little force or made a facial expression, blood kept coming out. Even when I lay down, the pain continued, so I couldn’t sleep well. Don’t watch anything funny I was absentmindedly watching Reels and chuckled, and I almost died from the pain....
<Suture removal> My skin is oily, my tissue is also delicate, and above all, this summer was really hot...... Maybe because of that, my skin didn’t heal well, so it took a long time until suture removal. Left side after 12 days Right side after 22 days The director checked my progress carefully, and if it was ambiguous, he wouldn’t remove the sutures. I regularly applied eye ointment and desperately waited until it healed.
I controlled my mindset, thinking that even if a scar remains, it would be better than removing them rashly....
