Hoohoohoohoo, before-before-before, hello! I received orthodontic treatment for malocclusion and facial asymmetry, then had double-jaw surgery and three facial contouring procedures (zygoma, square jaw, and chin), and I’m now entering my 6th month after surgery.
The facial swelling has almost all gone down, and a lot of sensation has returned too. hahaha At first I was worried because it felt like the swelling wasn’t going down well, but as time passed, I felt it gradually improve. Especially compared with the 1-month mark, there has been a really big change.!! As the director said, the residual swelling went down slowly, and by 6 months the swelling had almost disappeared and my face became much more natural. I’m seriously satisfied,, Everyone, please be patient. If you say, “It’s only been a month or two, so why is the swelling still the same?” you may feel awkward later Anyway, there is now almost no discomfort from the double-jaw surgery, and only a little discomfort remains from the orthodontic treatment. haha People around me say my impression has become much softer and prettier compared with before, so I’m very satisfied. A lot of sensation has also returned. At first, my upper gums and philtrum had almost no sensation, but now most sensation has returned except for about 80% of the gums. At some point my palate started to feel tingling, and I can feel the nerves gradually coming back. I’m not worried because I think the remaining nerve sensation will naturally return with time.
Considering how much my self-esteem dropped and how stressed I was because of my jaw issue, the discomfort now is really nothing. As time passes, seeing my face gradually change into the look I wanted has raised my self-esteem a lot too. Before, I had a strong sharp impression, but now my facial lines have softened, so I’m even more satisfied.
I’m looking forward to seeing how I’ll change once my orthodontic treatment is finished too!
