Before surgery, I was told that after removing the septal extension graft, no support strut would be left behind, and that only if the nasal septum had been over-harvested, they would use part of the septal cartilage used for the septal extension graft to lightly reinforce it. So I asked the doctor about that in detail, and he said that only in cases of over-harvesting, it would be enough to use only the remaining septal cartilage after removal, and that alone would be sufficient. After surgery, I was told that the septal cartilage was reused and added on the right side.
