Four years ago, I had double-eyelid surgery using natural adhesion. Since it was my first double-eyelid surgery, I asked them to make it as natural and unnoticeable as possible, and it turned out exactly that natural—my eyes looked as if no one even knew I had surgery... lol. Thinking back, I’d give the result about 7 out of 10. As time passed, the line on only my right eye gradually loosened, then disappeared completely, so I matched the line with eyelid tape. But wearing eyelid tape every day seemed to worsen my skin, and my eyes looked different every day, so I went to VN and had natural-adhesion double-eyelid surgery. Even though it was revision surgery, I chose natural adhesion because I still prefer a natural look. At several clinics, when I said the line had loosened, they recommended incision surgery plus ptosis correction. But ptosis correction can become excessive and create a startled, rabbit-eyed look if done poorly, and I didn’t want to take that risk. Dr. Kim Tae-hoon told me clearly that my eye exposure and opening strength were appropriate, so ptosis correction was unnecessary. He also said that although incision surgery would last longer, considering my skin thickness, natural adhesion could secure it firmly enough. (Looking into the cause of the loosening, the conclusion was that the previous clinic had made it too weak.) Since I also wanted to raise the line slightly during revision, we marked lines at different heights. Semi-out suited my eyes better than a completely in-out line, so I chose semi-out. The current heights are 10 mm on the left and 10.5 mm on the right. I love that the doctor designed the line to suit my eyes, and I also like that, despite it being revision surgery, he didn’t recommend unnecessary things and simply recreated the line with natural adhesion. It has now been one month since surgery, the swelling is almost gone (there is slight swelling in the morning), and the line suits me perfectly, so doing my makeup is fun lol.
