Nose Surgery Reviews

Review of consultations for bulbous nose rhinoplasty

Last year, I went around to three places for consultations, but I personally didn’t have the time or money to get surgery, so I put it off. Since last month, I started wanting to do it again, so I went around for consultations.

ㅇㅇㅂ, *ㄱㄴ, ㄹㅋㅋ were the clinics I visited last year. *ㄹㅂㄹ, ㅁㄷㅇ, ㅎㅇㅇㄷ are the clinics I added this year.

I don’t remember the clinics I visited last year in much detail, so I don’t have much to write about them The places marked with * are the ones I liked and narrowed down, so I’m planning to revisit the one I went to last year within this month. So I’ll only write about the clinics I newly visited this year.

ㄹㅂㄹ - ㄱㅊㅇ Primary rhinoplasty + donated costal cartilage or autologous costal cartilage + silicone When I looked at reviews, they generally seemed to perform surgery in a glamorous style, so I hadn’t really considered them last year, but I liked the line from the nasal bridge to the nasal tip, and it kept coming to mind, so I went for a consultation. They took a CT scan, I consulted with the consultant first, then had a consultation with the director. It lasted about 25 to 30 minutes. It definitely didn’t feel short. The director said my nose was not a severe bulbous nose, but because my nose is small and low, it looks wider from the front. For this kind of nose, there is no need to go too aggressively with alar reduction or bulbous nose correction, and using costal cartilage at the nasal tip to clearly raise the before-and-after height would actually be more effective. The key point was that if the nasal tip is raised, the bulbous-looking impression improves to some extent. Also, since my septal cartilage is somewhat insufficient, if I want the tip to be higher than my current bridge, costal cartilage would be the more suitable material. They explained both autologous costal cartilage and donated costal cartilage, and said the choice was up to me. They said I didn’t need any other surgeries besides that. The director also explained post-op precautions during the consultation, and while drawing diagrams, explained in a lot of detail what the septum is and where costal cartilage is used. The consultant also didn’t push booking too much, so overall I had a good impression.

ㅁㄷㅇ - ㅇㅌㄱ Primary rhinoplasty + donated costal cartilage or autologous costal cartilage + bulbous nose correction + silicone This was a place I booked while looking up clinics because I had some time in between, and among the places I visited, the staff? were the kindest, so it stuck in my memory. They take a CT scan, and the consultant first checks what kind of nose design I want, then tends to recommend materials. The director also looked at the CT scan and the size of my septal cartilage, then recommended surgery with costal cartilage because my septal cartilage was insufficient. But here, they said my nose was bulbous enough to need alar reduction Of course, alar reduction is optional, but anyway, to get the nose shape I want, bulbous nose correction is necessary.. They explained the pros and cons of both donated costal cartilage and autologous costal cartilage, and said whichever I choose is up to me. They said for autologous costal cartilage, they also provide thorough scar aftercare. The director’s consultation was relatively short, within about 10 to 15 minutes, and afterward the consultant explains post-op care and AS/warranty-related parts at length. Overall I felt they were kind, but they also asked things like which other clinics I had been to, so it felt a little burdensome They weren’t overly interrogating me, so I think how people feel about this may differ depending on their personality.

ㅎㅇㅇㄷ - ㅇㅈㅎ Primary rhinoplasty + donated costal cartilage + ear cartilage + silicone This was also a clinic I went to after seeing reviews. They take a CT scan, and the first consultation with the consultant ended very briefly, so I saw the director almost right away without much waiting. I’ve gone around to several consultations so far, but among the places I visited, this director was the best talker and had a pretty cheerful type of personality Put another way, he talks fast and almost makes your soul leave your body.. Since this was my last consultation, I was already drained + exhausted, so maybe that made it even harder.. This director also said my nose was not a severely bulbous nose, and if only the nasal tip were raised, it could be corrected to some extent. (He said my nose overall wasn’t ugly, so I felt kind of good..) Likewise, he recommended using costal cartilage because the nasal tip couldn’t be raised with septal cartilage alone, and since it was my first surgery, he said wouldn’t donated costal cartilage be better, while pulling my nasal tip with a cotton swab to check the nose line. He said costal cartilage is needed to support the nasal tip more firmly. But he said he wouldn’t use only costal cartilage, and would use ear cartilage together as well. The consultant consultation wasn’t particularly memorable.. They just told me exactly what was needed and the consultation ended. No pressure to book! Maybe because of that, the whole consultation ended quickly.

Next week, I’m going to revisit the clinic I liked a bit last year, and then finally decide and set a surgery date. After going around to several consultations, what I feel is visiting 4 to 5 places in one day is too draining and too much.. I think 2 to 3 places is appropriate..^^ Don’t rush your consultations, and everyone should give themselves enough time to go around.
