First, I had double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty with a non-incisional method a long time ago, and as time went by, I wondered if the double eyelid line was gradually getting looser.. and sure enough, it ended up coming undone into an unattractive asymmetry I had also been wanting to make the double eyelid line a little clearer, more refined, and higher, so I ended up looking into revision surgery too
The first criterion I used when looking for a clinic was whether it was a private clinic or not. I had my first surgery at a large hospital that everyone would know if I said the name, but every time I went, it was packed with people and chaotic, and the aftercare was careless.. Overall, I felt like things were not being managed well.. Actually, it was my first surgery, and at that time there wasn’t as much active information-sharing about cosmetic surgery as there is now, so I didn’t know that was a problem. But this time, while looking into revision surgery, I searched just a little and found that aftercare and the atmosphere vary completely from clinic to clinic.. Overall, many people said private clinics are not rushed and check progress and care more thoroughly, so I also looked mainly at private clinics!
Since it was revision surgery, I narrowed it down to a few private clinics that handle a lot of revision cases, and among them, I had it done at the place with the longest AS period and where the consultant and director were the kindest during consultation. The director carefully drew the line several times, and the surgical cases they showed me were so similar to mine that I couldn’t help being drawn to it.. I also trusted them more when I heard that it was a clinic people visit more often for revision surgery than for first-time surgery
Since it was revision surgery.. and I didn’t want it to come undone unattractively anymore, I went with the incisional method. I asked the director, since I was already getting revision surgery, to make the line clearer and higher. Since I had already had epicanthoplasty during my first surgery.. for the revision, I also added lateral canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty I wanted to make my eyes bigger to change my image a bit ^^ Honestly, I hadn’t really looked into lateral + lower canthoplasty much and just asked the director during consultation, “I want to do lateral + lower canthoplasty too~” but I found out that the difference is quite noticeable depending on the number of mm.. The director personally used a ruler and checked each of those details carefully.
Honestly, since it was incisional revision surgery, I couldn’t help worrying about swelling.. but it wasn’t as severe as I had worried, so after getting the stitches removed, I wore a hat pulled down and went on walks diligently~ I used the cooling pack from the clinic for cold compresses through day 4, and once I felt the swelling had gone down quite a bit, I started warm compresses to help the bruising fade. I had watched a lot of double eyelid surgery vlogs, and they said pumpkin red bean tea helps swelling more than plain pumpkin juice, so I ordered some of that through KakaoTalk Gifts too.. I also took the medication prescribed by the clinic properly, gulping it down, and over time it naturally settled into place.
For incisional swelling, honestly, from now on is the real key point, and it will continue to go down over the next few months. Still, even by the one-month mark, I think it has gone down enough to manage daily life without difficulty. As I mentioned, I think they made the line higher in a way that suits me perfectly, and the lateral + lower canthoplasty also seems to have opened the eyes nicely without looking unnatural, so I’m quite satisfied with the revision surgery
