Even though I had clearly made an appointment, the wait was extremely long—long enough to make me wonder why they accepted appointments at all. I went to this clinic to lift my sagging cheek fat in a short time. Like many people who came after seeing Lee Ji-hye, I visited this clinic, but the director recommended another doctor. Since that doctor had performed more facial lifting procedures, I booked with them.
I explained in advance that I had an important event in a month. They said there would be no problem and recommended procedures that seemed necessary for my face. They said I needed thread lifting with 8+8 threads on both sides, plus peach threads (3+3 threads to pull up the front-cheek area), so the cost became much higher than I had expected. I also decided to receive Aqua BB (skin booster), square-jaw treatment, and eye-area Botox as recommended.
They scheduled the procedure for the doctor’s available time the next day. Then the director suddenly said they would be on vacation the next day and promised to brief another director well. Since the doctor would perform the procedure, I thought it would be fine. At that point, I had no reason to think the procedure would go wrong.
On the day of the procedure, after a brief consultation with another director, I paid extra for Onda lifting, which the doctor had recommended the day before, and lay down on the operating table. I felt that everything was being rushed, so I clearly told the nurse that my blood vessels were thin and fragile, ruptured easily, and that it was common for about three nurses to take turns trying. However, they failed after puncturing my right arm and right wrist, and only succeeded calmly after moving to my left wrist.
Without hearing that anesthesia was about to be administered, I was put under sedation. Someone woke me up, and my right eye felt dry and stiff. When I looked in the mirror, I saw a completely different face: protruding flesh folded at both temples, a square jaw, larger cheekbones, and a flatfish-plus-fennec-fox appearance. I immediately said I wanted to meet the doctor.
The fourth-floor desk employee became irritated with me because I was moving slowly while still groggy from anesthesia. Even though the employee was not the person directly in front of me but someone beside them, I said, “Please understand that I’m moving slowly because I haven’t fully recovered from the anesthesia.” They still snapped at me to go sit down, so I said, “I don’t want to talk to you.”
After changing clothes, I checked the doctor’s schedule because they had already gone in to perform another surgery, returned to the clinic at the doctor’s available time, and met them. I asked about the procedure because I had not even heard that the anesthetic was being administered. The doctor calmly explained the procedure, but regarding the overlapping flesh at my temples, they said they would massage it to loosen the threads and reduce the effect. (Then why did I have it done? What did I spend millions of won and all that time for?)
This clinic even says that its thread lifting lasts two years because of the material placed in the threads, and that durability is why people come here. I asked whether recommending 8+8 threads could cause the flesh to be pushed upward, make the temples bulge, turn the U-line into a square jaw, make the cheekbones look larger by lifting from the cheek area, and cause flesh to protrude at the temples. They said it would be fine after about a week.
After hearing the doctor’s explanation, I thought the area below my eye line might look that way because of severe swelling immediately after the procedure, so I agreed to receive a swelling laser treatment the following Monday as recommended. However, I was worried that the protruding flesh at my temples would not be resolved. They promised to take responsibility until the end and pull it from inside the hairline to flatten it if it did not disappear.
Because they said the swelling laser would have little effect that day and that it would be better after a week, I did not receive it that day and went home, planning to return the following Monday, exactly one week later. Two days later, the director told me that the doctor was off until Tuesday. They said I should simply come in for the swelling laser and an IV infusion.
The protruding flesh at my temples was still there, my bruising had worsened, and the swelling was unchanged. Instead of any aftercare from the doctor, I continued to receive only recommendations from the director to get the swelling laser. In the end, I had to have another clinic address the flesh protruding and folding at both temples as a result of this clinic’s procedure. It had protruded so much that it still has not been completely resolved, and my face has not returned to its original shape.
They kept asking me to come in while the doctor was absent for the swelling laser and an IV infusion. But I was afraid because this was the clinic that had punctured my blood vessels three times, and a swelling laser could not resolve flesh protruding because of thread lifting anyway, so I said I would go when the doctor was there.
Since they said the doctor was off until Tuesday, I planned to go on Wednesday. However, only the director kept contacting me. I even asked them to send my photos and condition to the doctor, but judging from the clinic’s response so far, it does not seem that they have any plan……
People go to plastic surgery clinics spending a lot of money and time to become more beautiful, right? Instead, they created a concern that I did not have and forced me to spend additional money at another clinic to resolve it. Please choose a clinic where the doctor communicates directly, rather than one that pushes excessive procedures, rushes through procedures as if operating on an assembly line, and neglects patients who are dissatisfied with the results. I only hope that another case like mine does not happen.
I’ll write another update after meeting the doctor on Wednesday!
