Self-paid major work, day 2!!!
Right now, because of the swelling, it’s hard to even open my eyes in the morning and I look very much like a fish-faced person, but ... I’m proud of myself for getting everything done at once!
14 years ago, when I was 20, I got double eyelid surgery and, without knowing much, I thought doing epicanthoplasty together would make my eyes bigger and better, so I did it, but anyone could see the inner corners looked awkward and obviously operated on. These days everyone gets epicanthoplasty naturally and double eyelid surgery without it being obvious. Am I too much of a grandma lololol
After putting it off and off, 2 days ago on 6/19 I finally got on the operating table. Since I live outside Seoul, I checked whether surgery was possible right after consultation and paid the deposit.
I really didn’t have the confidence to go around Seoul visiting several places and getting multiple consultations.
The region where I live does have a lot of other plastic surgeries, but there weren’t any places good at eye restoration, so after only doing online research for years, I picked one place I liked.
Just like the reviews said, the director was so sweet and meticulous, was passionate about the design too, and I really liked that they clearly told me what couldn’t be done!
I was definitely planning on epicanthoplasty restoration, and over the past few years, maybe from aging, my under-eyes looked hollow, my dark circles couldn’t even be covered with concealer, and from the side my under-eye area looked a bit bulging, so I said I wanted to do under-eye fat repositioning too if possible.
It was only a micro-restoration, but since I was worried my eyes would get smaller with epicanthoplasty restoration, I also asked about lateral and lower canthoplasty.
They said lower canthoplasty would be difficult to do at the same time because it shares the same incision area? as under-eye fat repositioning, and said under-eye fat repositioning and lateral canthoplasty could be done together, so I decided to proceed. I also had hollow upper eyelids and not much volume under the eyes, so fat grafting was recommended too.
They said forehead Botox would be good every 3 months at any clinic for about a year, because if I open my eyes using my forehead, the epicanthoplasty restoration could separate.
So in the end, I decided to proceed with epicanthoplasty restoration / lateral canthoplasty / under-eye fat repositioning / upper eyelid & under-eye fat grafting / forehead Botox (I plan to do fat grafting up to the second round)
Compared with the event price on Babitalk, there was an additional charge for epicanthoplasty restoration too, so the price differed, and because I was doing several surgeries at once, the actual quote was enormous lololol
Still, my face is precious, so I thought it was worth investing in and decided to proceed. (I’m just writing on this community because I have nothing to do at home after surgery, and even though I proceeded at the event price in exchange for writing a review on the app, it was still a huge amount! I also got a bit more of a discount, but still, my hands were shaking^^,,)
The consultant was kind, and the director was calm, kind, meticulous, detailed, and sweet.
They sketched the design in the consultation room, sketched again in the operating room, and even during surgery kept saying open your eyes, look here, close them over and over. It really felt like they were checking very carefully.
After surgery, while searching for reviews, I found out some beauty YouTuber also seems to have had restoration here successfully? It seems like it has now been over about 2 years since that person had surgery.
On day 2, I’m still swollen and fish-faced, so I can’t say for sure, but when changing the regenerative tape, the shape of the inner corners looked okay.
They say under-eye fat repositioning becomes natural between 2 and 4 weeks, so I’ll have to see, and for lateral canthoplasty, my eyes are so swollen now that I can’t really tell lol
Since I decided to do fat grafting up to the second round, before the harvested fat goes bad, I have to get another procedure? within 2 months, but I’m looking forward to it.
The thigh where they took the fat has slight bruising, but since they only took a little fat to put into the eyes, there’s no way my thigh would get thinner, which is a shame
Because during my first double eyelid surgery, the anesthesia wore off near the end and I remember it hurting so much, when they asked what I was worried about, I asked just one thing and nothing else: Does this surgery hurt?
It was a 3-hour surgery, but it ended without major pain, so I’m satisfied with this major work^^
The surgery time was 1 hour for preparation and consultation, 3 hours for surgery, about 4 hours total, surgery started at 11 and ended at 14. After that, I did cold compresses and recovered in the recovery room.
If you’re from outside Seoul, it seems like you shouldn’t book your train ticket too tightly. I arrived at 9:40 and left around 15:40. (Of course, if I had only done epicanthoplasty restoration, it probably would have ended sooner..?)
If I’m not too lazy, I’ll recover a bit more and try writing another post later.
