Before/after before/after before/after after after I had nose surgery and incisional double eyelid surgery at a plastic surgery clinic.
My bulbous nose bothered me so much that I tried Hiko and also got nose Botox, but neither helped improve the bulbous nose at all, so I eventually decided to have surgery.
I did a lot of research on my own, and since I personally preferred autologous costal cartilage, I narrowed it down among hospitals that handle autologous costal cartilage well and went to consultations at 3 places. The second place was this clinic, and as soon as I had the consultation there, I made up my mind, so I booked it that same day and scheduled the surgery.
First of all, the consultant was very kind, and the director’s consultation was very long and detailed. He suggested various things needed to improve my bulbous nose, examined my nose, drew diagrams while explaining the necessary procedures in detail, and also showed me photos of similar bulbous nose surgeries, so seeing them with my own eyes made me trust him more. I immediately felt this was the place and decided on surgery.
On the day of surgery, they pulled up photos of the nose shape I wanted and the nose shapes I didn’t want on the computer, then did the final design and proceeded with surgery. Since my forehead is on the higher side, I wanted the line from my forehead to my nasal tip to fall harmoniously; I wanted it high but not excessive, with definite improvement of the bulbous nose, but I absolutely did not want a pointy nose, and I didn’t want a nose that anyone could tell was surgically done(?) I asked for very difficult conditions. I had the double eyelid surgery first, then proceeded with the nose surgery, and after it was over, my eyes and nose truly had no pain at all. Since it was done with costal cartilage, except for the inevitable stiffness at the rib cartilage surgery site, it was manageable. (The stiffness got better from 3 days later.)
It has been 1 month since surgery, and my side profile is really naturally high. Every time my mom sees me, she says it looks so natural but high, and whenever she says that, I feel proud because the result came out just the way I wanted. There is still swelling at the nasal tip, but the bulbous nose has definitely improved, and I’m also very satisfied that the nasal tip is not pointy but rounded. For the double eyelid surgery, I was surprised because the swelling went down so quickly that you really can’t even tell it was done. Sometimes I even forget I had double eyelid surgery; even though it was incisional, I didn’t know the swelling could go down this fast.
I had Hiko thread removal, silicone + autologous costal cartilage/septal cartilage + osteotomy, columella lowering, and incisional double eyelid surgery done together. I feel proud because I think it was such a good decision to have it done by Director Choi Tae-jun at this clinic!!
