I initially planned to visit five clinics, but I could not go to [Clinic A] or [Clinic B] because of the doctors' surgery schedules. Here are my consultations at three clinics.
1. [Clinic C] (doctor–coordinator): I arrived a little early. The front-desk staff said the doctor I had booked was in surgery and would only be available an hour and a half later, so I consulted another doctor instead. I do not remember much explanation about my current eye condition. This was my fifth revision, and the asymmetry was severe. Since I was relatively satisfied with one eye, they recommended matching the other to it. I was not particularly drawn to the clinic.
2. [Clinic D] (coordinator–doctor–coordinator): Although I had an appointment, the wait was quite long and the next appointment was delayed by 30 minutes. The coordinator said she did not recommend revision because my case was ambiguous, and even if I did it, there would be no dramatic result. Still unable to let go, I waited longer for the doctor. The doctor refused and told me not to do it. They said that after four incisional surgeries, opening the eyes again would reveal a mess and nothing more could be done. T_T I left feeling depressed.
3. [Clinic E] (doctor–coordinator): Their confidence in revision surgery inspired trust. They accurately identified my eye condition and seemed highly specialized in revision surgery. They showed me photos of various revision cases. They said even the eye I was relatively satisfied with had insufficient opening strength and a high crease. Their conclusion was that revision seemed necessary. I said I did not want an inner double eyelid after becoming one following my second surgery. They said they would match it as much as possible, but depending on the person, the crease may show more or be covered even at the same height. The exact result can only be known after surgery. I could not get a definite answer, so I was still unsure, but I trusted them regarding the revision itself. I consulted with the doctor and coordinator for nearly an hour, booked surgery for the following week, and went home.
