One-week review after facial contouring surgery. Until day 4, the swelling was so severe that I was extremely stressed I looked so unattractive that I wondered whether the surgery had gone wrong, and I felt depressed every time I woke up I kept thinking, “What if I look worse than before? Did I do this for nothing?” Before bed, I prayed that everything would go well, thought of my parents, and so on. Facial contouring really seems to be a battle with swelling🥲 Until day 4, I did not even feel like taking walks and mostly watched YouTube at home, but around day 5 the swelling started going down noticeably. From then on, I walked more than 15,000 steps a day and went outside wearing a hat and mask! I like riding bicycles, so I tried to ride one, but perhaps because I could not eat much, I had no energy and could only ride for a few minutes So I did not push myself and focused on walking. When I looked in the mirror at home, the swelling around my cheeks did not look that severe, but when I saw myself in a mirror outside, I was much more swollen than expected, like some kind of seafood, and thought, “So I am still very swollen.” Still, until the one-week mark, I could feel the swelling decreasing significantly day by day. Around days 4–5, yellow bruises appeared, and around then the toothache-like or jaw-area pain had almost disappeared, so I stopped taking Tylenol. Before that, the dull aching continued, so Tylenol was essential. During consultations, the coordinator said this clinic generally causes little swelling, which made me more interested, and I can definitely feel that the swelling is going down quickly. Now there seems to be almost no swelling around my eyes and nose, or only slight residual swelling. The cheeks, jaw, and neck are still very puffy. Facial contouring really seems to shake your mental state because of the early swelling. I was so stressed because of it.... I want the swelling to go down faster so I can put on makeup and go out for delicious food I really want to go eat at a buffet and have hot pot… And if you are debating whether to do it, if you think you will keep thinking, “I should have had contouring done then,” I recommend doing it. Since elementary and middle school, I had been stressed by my angular, long-looking jaw, and I was also bothered by the increasingly wide-looking empty space beside my eyes. No matter how much weight I lost, it was bone, so my face never became as small as I wanted It has only been one week, so I need to see how much more the swelling decreases, but so far I am satisfied! Thank you~
