This is my 3-week review after revision rhinoplasty~! I had previously had surgery with septum + ear cartilage + no implant, and as 6 months passed, the tip of my nose gradually became blunt and drooped downward, so I decided to get revision surgery.
I wanted a more glamorous nose than after my first surgery, and I prefer a straight-but-slightly-turned-up line, so I went to three consultations.
The reason I chose to have revision surgery here was that the other two places said I needed alar reduction, but I could see that my skin was on the thinner side, and the director here said that because my skin is thin, the cartilage could show, so I didn't need alar reduction. That made me trust them. During the consultation, they showed me the CT scan and even drew the silicone millimeter size that would suit my nose, which made me so satisfied with the consultation that I decided to go ahead with the surgery!
After talking with the director, I went ahead with 3 mm silicone + autologous costal cartilage + long-nose correction, and now it's week 3. The bruising was mainly around the eyes up until week 1! After 4 days, the pain from the autologous costal cartilage wasn't severe enough to interfere with daily life, and the scar also seems to have become as small as one finger joint, so I'm satisfied. I'm at week 3 now, but sometimes the autologous costal cartilage area stings, and when I asked the hospital, they said that can happen for up to a month. Other than that, there don't seem to be any major discomforts~~
The hospital gave me a scar ointment separately for scar care, so I'm using that, but if anyone knows of good scar ointments or care methods, please recommend them!!
