I didn’t really have any major complaints about my face normally, but my large nostrils were a complex. But nose surgery was too scary, so I wasn’t even thinking about it, then a friend only had alar reduction and it turned out so well. So I thought I should try it too and looked into it. First of all, I live outside Seoul, so I didn’t have much time to go around for consultations, so I looked up a lot of reviews on cafes and apps. The surgery reviews done by the director at ㅇㄴㅁㄷ were the ones I liked the most. So I called to get a consultation, and they said it was possible, so I booked right away and went for a consultation that weekend.
I consulted with the consultant first, then with the director. The director explained that if it’s done too excessively, it can look like a pinched nose, and also shaped it to show me what it would look like after surgery. The reason I chose this place was because I saw reviews and photos saying they do it naturally and not excessively, and after hearing the detailed explanation, I trusted them even more. So I decided to schedule the earliest possible date and have the surgery.
On the day of surgery, I went earlier than the surgery time, heard the instructions, had one more meeting with the director, and went into surgery. Seriously, I closed my eyes and opened them and the surgery was over, and it didn’t hurt at all. I rested a bit in the recovery room and then left the hospital.
At first, the philtrum area was also a little numb, but as time passed and the anesthesia gradually wore off, sensation came back, and it didn’t really hurt. Just a slight throbbing? Even that was almost gone after taking the medication the hospital gave me.
Generally, based on reviews, days 2 to 3 are said to be the most swollen, but maybe because I slept in a seated position with my pillow high and often went for walks for an hour or two a day, the swelling went down steadily. After a week, I had the stitches removed, and the director also checked the surgical progress.
Now at one month, there is almost no scarring, and I recovered well with no problems at all in daily life. First of all, I’m really, really satisfied that I had the surgery. Before, my index finger could fit in, but now it’s small enough that even my pinky finger may or may not fit lol All my close friends say it’s amazing and that the surgery turned out so well. Of course, I also gained some confidence in my face.. Before, whenever I took photos, I was busy reducing my alae in Photoshop, but these days I don’t edit my nose.
