The before-story goes like this. At the start of the year, I was scared that if I went with an incision, the recovery period would be long, so I went with the non-incisional method..... I had the arrogant misconception that double-eyelid surgery was an easy procedure, so without properly researching, I went out for a casual walk around the neighborhood and ended up getting my first surgery in a hurry.
Even though I had double-eyelid surgery with a non-incisional method at another hospital, my eyelid drooping did not improve, and one eye in particular came down more, so I had revision surgery with an incision. I felt like my eyelids were growing every day.....
Even though it was non-incisional, after having double-eyelid surgery, I was often told I looked like I hadn’t slept. I was also frequently told that I looked tired or sleepy.
Because my eyes felt uncomfortable, I ended up frowning unintentionally, and since the strength of opening my left and right eyes was different, I felt a lot of stress every time I became aware of it myself.
For the revision surgery, I had an incisional double-eyelid surgery with Dr. Kim Jin-hyung at Sugar. The difference between the before and after photos is [incisional revision surgery, lower canthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty, upper canthoplasty, eye-opening correction, lower eyelid fat repositioning].
After the revision surgery, opening my eyes became easier, the strength on both sides became almost the same, so daily life feels less tiring, which is great, and not to mention my eye shape became prettier, my eyes got much bigger ^^ Even at the one-month mark, I’m very satisfied.
Because the asymmetry was severe, my eyes were uneven too, so I asked them to match my uneven eyes as much as possible, and because of that I also had upper canthoplasty, so at one month, the inner corners of my eyes still look a bit swollen. Since the swelling around the inner corners is supposedly the slowest to go down, I’m looking forward to how they’ll look at two and three months.
Uneven eyes, eyes with unbalanced opening strength, revision surgery, canthoplasty...... Thinking about it now, my eyes probably weren’t easy eyes to work on. Even so, I’m suddenly grateful again, thinking of how hard the doctor must have worked to balance them as much as possible.
