The length looked slightly short, the alar area was protruding, and it wasn’t exactly a slim, pretty nose either lol I thought I didn’t really have a low nasal bridge, but since I wanted to take away that short-looking length, I did think that some silicone might need to be inserted to adjust the height difference. When they were figuring out my needs, I told them I wanted a nose that was as natural-glam as possible, pretty, and slim.
When I went for consultations, they said I had a bit of a bulbous nose, so they suggested bulbous nose correction. But
Clinic A - no alar reduction, only bulbous nose correction Clinic B - alar reduction + bulbous nose correction Clinic C - recommended rib cartilage + bulbous nose correction + alar reduction
The diagnoses differed by clinic like this, so I worried a lot about what I should do.
I had heard that if alar reduction is done wrong, it can make the nose look pinched, and that you have to take incision scars into account, so in the end I went with the clinic that said I didn’t need alar reduction.
Also, they said that while shaving down the slight hump, since my nasal bones were a bit thick, osteotomy would be needed. I was scared of osteotomy, but they said it doesn’t hurt much, so I said okay.
The director lol touched my nose this way and that, and said my septal cartilage could be used and that it seemed sufficient. They said if they opened it up for surgery and it didn’t seem firm enough or was thinner than expected, they might add donated rib cartilage during the procedure. In the end, thankfully, they didn’t mix in anything else and used only septal cartilage.
It’s been a little over a month since surgery. Doesn’t it look really different?
I should keep in mind that once the remaining swelling goes down more, it’ll look slimmer than this. The nasal line came out nicely in a straight-to-slightly-curved shape, so my overall impression looks cleaner and more feminine. + But I also don’t think it looks extremely obvious that I had surgery.
Walking is the best for getting swelling down quickly, and avoiding stimulating foods as much as possible is another way! + I bought and used the anti-adhesion product and inflammation spray sold separately here because I thought they’d work well lol
