The director said they also attend rhinoplasty conferences in other countries and seemed experienced with revision surgery for noses with complications. However, when I said I wanted a conservative first surgery and wanted to exclude unnecessary procedures because I was worried about complications, they said it was because I had watched too much online content and that such stories naturally appear often online. They even said that cold medicine can have side effects, but I’m not sure whether rhinoplasty can really be compared with cold medicine. They said I could choose between silicone and Gore-Tex. When I asked whether Gore-Tex was not commonly used these days, they said that in places such as Taiwan or Hong Kong, 80–90% of people actually use Gore-Tex instead of silicone. After I got home, I searched YouTube and saw a video saying that although Gore-Tex is widely used in China, complications from it have recently begun appearing there as well. After that, the consultation manager continued explaining that their clinic had no cases of complications and emphasized that celebrities often came in groups for surgery. Overall, I felt it might not be a good fit for me because I tend to avoid risk.
