Eye Surgery Considerations

Gaam Review

The clinic looked quite old, but had a kind and comfortable atmosphere. The consultation coordinator seemed to have a lot of experience, but I remember being a little taken aback because she was wearing casual clothes rather than a uniform. I was also surprised when she showed me before-and-after photos that she had printed and laminated herself. Those photos also looked about 10 to 20 years old. Overall, it felt like a space where time had stopped. The doctor strongly emphasized that he pursues results that do not look obviously cosmetic and appear natural. Most clinics I visited for consultation suggested using septal and ear cartilage, but here they suggested using only ear cartilage. Other clinics had said that my nasal tip was weak and soft, so ear cartilage alone would not be enough. When I asked about that, the doctor only replied, “I have been operating on noses since before you were born; using only ear cartilage will not be a problem.” I was a little taken aback. (But I was somewhat late for the consultation, and the doctor seemed rushed because of the surgery schedule afterward, so I thought that might have been why..) The consultation coordinator was very kind and seemed knowledgeable from her long experience. In fact, she gave a detailed explanation that my nose does not droop downward when I smile or make facial expressions, so it does not have pulling force and is not a nose that will droop. I like those points because I want the procedure to be as safe and natural as possible, but I am concerned because there is so much controversy surrounding Gore-Tex.
