I've had nose surgery once before, and this time it's for a revision. I want the tip extended longer, and because my nostrils show a bit, I want the alar base lowered.
1. Dㅇㅇ Plastic Surgery, in Yeoksam. First of all, it was big, and personally, the manager was really pretty. I'm a guy. More than just being pretty, the way she talked was so captivating I almost fell for it. She was beautiful, but she was also really skilled at speaking. I even wondered if there was some green light there. But the surgeon consultation wasn't great, and I said I wanted alar base lowering, but he said it wouldn't be effective, which was a bit ridiculous. I came here for that... I just got a bad feeling about it. So I just left. The surgeon was a board-certified plastic surgeon, but I don't remember the doctor's name. Anyway, even if someone recommends a specific doctor here, there are like 50 doctors at the hospital, so... it seems better to look at their backgrounds and choose. What stuck in my memory was that the manager was really pretty, and even the way she spoke was lovely.
2. ㅇㅇㄷ Plastic Surgery, in the Sinsa area. The manager consultation was just so-so. Then in the surgeon consultation, this doctor also said alar base lowering wasn't that great. He said not to expect the nostrils to be hidden. Sigh... my nostrils aren't even that big, just a little visible... they said it couldn't be done, basically. They said it wouldn't be effective.... So yeah, I passed again. Same here, there are many doctors. It seems better to choose by looking at their backgrounds. Recommendations also seem very case-by-case, so just choose for yourself after checking the doctor's background.
3. B Plastic Surgery, in Nonhyeon (not). I went for a consultation because people at the cafe said they were really good at this. Ah, the manager consultation was just so-so, I don't remember it well. The consultation with Dr. G left a huge impression ㅡㅡ really good..... They said alar base lowering was possible... that it could be done... and because they explained the surgery details and process one by one in a way that matched my level, it was really easy to understand... but then they kept saying everything could be done... I'd also seen comments saying the consultation and the post-op results were different, and I'd read way too many comments. First of all, the consultation is definitely 5 stars. I was so satisfied and liked it so much that if they had just said it was possible, I really would have lain down right there and booked surgery immediately. But... wow, while searching, there were so many conflicting opinions. I spent days just searching, and because I couldn't read the comments unless I joined, I signed up too. I'm still undecided... Also, since the doctor is an ENT specialist, the nose side should be fine even if they're not a plastic surgery specialist. It's a nose anyway. For things like rhinitis, that might actually be better. If I were deciding purely on trust, this would be my first choice, but the comments are so divided... Oh, and I want autologous costal cartilage, but here they only do ear cartilage unconditionally... and there are several doctors here too. Finding before-and-after photos of the doctor I want was really hard. I searched like crazy on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Google, Naver, everything. There are before-and-after photos for other doctors, but for Dr. G there were really only 3? I'm still conflicted. For now, this is my first choice and I'm waiting...
4. ㅇㅂㅈ, Gangnam Station, Dr. ㅇㄱㅁ Ah, this was one of the top choices along with B. Honestly, I don't remember the manager consultations at all for any of them. In the end, the surgeon is the one who performs the surgery, so I figured the surgeon's word was what mattered. Honestly, the managers mostly just encourage you from the side or add a bit more explanation, so I just asked what I was curious about and that was it. The doctor touched my nose a lot as soon as he saw it, even put his finger into my nostril and all that. I was shocked ㅡㅡㅋ But the doctor smelled nice, so it somehow gave a clean feeling. First of all, they used autologous costal cartilage, and everything was fine... but somehow there just wasn't that one big impact, so I'm putting it on hold....
5. ㅇㅍㄹㅅ, Apgujeong, the doctor was ㅇㅎㅊ I think. I went for a consultation here, but they didn't talk about the nose; they only talked about facial asymmetry. I said the columella looked crooked, so the whole nose seemed crooked, and so on, but they said my nose was normal and that my face was crooked. But when I looked at the CT, they were right... really, so I had nothing to say. According to what the doctor said, I shouldn't be getting nose surgery, I should be correcting the facial asymmetry. But... I want nose surgery... so I just left. I was going to get my nose done anyway. By the way, four of us, including a friend who looked into noses with me this time, and one of them decided to do it here. She's the kind of person who hates hassle, so she just went to one place and booked right away... But I saw a lot of comments saying this place is good, so it probably is good.. It just doesn't seem like the right fit for me, so I passed. Oh, and the manager really trashed other hospitals.. It seemed like there was some lying mixed in too. I work in a job where I deal with people, so when I hear someone talk, I can usually feel whether it's a lie or the truth, and it was just tacky.
6. ㅊㅁ, Sinnonhyeon.. Consultation appointments are only available in December... so I passed..
7. ㅁㅈ. You know this place is super famous, right?? One doctor only. Here, it is definitely autologous costal cartilage, and the doctor is confident. But I searched a ton here, and there were so many really strange things being said about this place... The case-by-case variation was extremely severe, and the surgery was insanely expensive. Well, I wasn't going to think about the money anyway.. Oh, and I heard a lot of Gangnam hostess-bar guys go here. It has a bit of a local hidden-gem vibe. The facilities are also really good. But... my acquaintance also had it done here, and honestly I think with noses it's just a matter of tiny differences. There's nothing like, wow, insane. But I had basically already made my final decision here... while looking up which specialist they had, I saw a comment. I don't know if it's true, but I was a bit shocked, so I'm waiting... If it were anywhere else, I'd have passed immediately, but this place is really good, so it's not a pass, it's a wait...

Different hospitals suit different people. And honestly, I'm not sure about online research. There are so many cases where the in-person impression and the online impression are different.. I had decided on B after in-person consultations, then decided on MZ after online research, then switched back to B after more online research, then after more online research... Now I'm going there 5 times a day and my head is about to explode, my sleep schedule is flipped, and I sleep at dawn... I'm still torn between B and MZ...
