Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Double-jaw surgery review (Yang Yoon-dol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dental Clinic)

1. What concerned you most? My lower face usually protruded somewhat, so I was especially self-conscious about my facial line in profile. Whenever I took photos or looked in the mirror, my lower face was the first thing I noticed, so I kept looking for ways to improve it.

2. What made you decide to have surgery? While looking for a way to address my lower-face issue, I came across reviews of protruding-mouth and double-jaw surgery in an online community. After reading several reviews, I saw that some people had surgery at Yang Yoon-dol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, so I decided to have a consultation. During the consultation, the doctor personally examined my CT scan and photos and compared them with before-and-after cases of other patients. The doctor explained that, in my case, solving the fundamental problem of the lower face through double-jaw surgery was more appropriate than simply having protruding-mouth surgery. The doctor specifically explained, based on my CT scan and photos, why double-jaw surgery rather than protruding-mouth surgery was necessary. This greatly improved my understanding, and I decided to have surgery because I wanted to address the fundamental lower-face problem, not merely improve my appearance.

3. Why did you choose this clinic among the many hospitals? The biggest reason was that, during the consultation, they accurately assessed my condition and explained specifically why surgery was needed and how it would be performed. They looked directly at my CT scan and photos and explained why double-jaw surgery was suitable compared with other surgical methods. Rather than simply pressuring me to have surgery, they explained the method suited to my condition in an easy-to-understand way, which made me trust them. I was also satisfied that they continued to provide meticulous care not only before surgery but immediately afterward and throughout recovery.

4. How was your recovery after surgery? I recovered while staying at the hospital until the second postoperative day. Because I already had rhinitis, the hardest part immediately after surgery was that I could not breathe comfortably through my nose and had to breathe through my mouth. Still, I recovered while consistently applying ice packs as instructed. Other than having to eat only soft foods like porridge for a while, my daily life was not greatly affected. It has now been about a month and a half since surgery. The swelling has decreased considerably compared with the beginning, and overall I feel much more comfortable. I am avoiding only very hard foods such as peanuts and squid; otherwise, I have recovered enough to eat most foods.

5. What change are you most satisfied with? The part I am most satisfied with is, naturally, my profile. Before surgery, I was self-conscious about looking at my profile because my lower face protruded, but afterward my lower face was naturally refined and the overall facial line became much more natural. Since my profile was the part I had worried about most, I am especially satisfied that I can now look at it and feel how different it is from before.

6. What would you like to say to people considering surgery? If you are considering double-jaw surgery, I think it is important to receive a thorough consultation about your exact condition and which surgery is appropriate for you before deciding. I too initially had only vague concerns about how to address my lower face, but after receiving a specific explanation of my condition and the surgical method during the consultation, I was able to make my decision. This clinic also provided meticulous care continuously from the preoperative consultation through immediately after surgery and the recovery process, so I could feel reassured while recovering. If you are considering double-jaw surgery, I would recommend choosing a clinic that provides careful postoperative management as well as having good surgical skill.
