Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

A 10-year double-jaw surgery review from a 31-year-old woman at Chung-Ang University

I was really a severe asymmetry case. From what I remember, if it had been twisted 0.2 mm more, I could have received a disability rating? Anyway, I started orthodontic treatment at 20 and had surgery about a year later, and I really did everything they told me to do diligently, even dragging myself out for walks from the day after surgery. I remember the staff saying I was admirable lol After the surgery I had no strength, but because I had a pain-control pump, it wasn’t really as painful as the rumor that it feels like you were run over by a truck. I was just insanely swollen to the point that I couldn’t hear well. It felt like even inside my ears was swollen. For about a month I really lived like a dog stung by bees, and after a month I gradually started looking prettier! Now I’m living very well with no side effects, and even if I could go back, I would absolutely do it again. In fact, because my appearance changed quite a lot after the surgery, the way people treated me around me changed a lot too. It felt like my life changed? I recommend it for people who truly need double-jaw surgery, but please... please, if you’re already slim-faced and basically normal, don’t look at double-jaw surgery too lightly and go for it. When I really see people who had complications, they were cases where they were already within the normal range and had surgery, or got it done cheaply as a cosmetic procedure at some random plastic surgery clinic. Chung-Ang University Hospital is very thorough with care, and I was hospitalized for about a week, I think, and because it’s such a major surgery they also provide solid post-op care. So, if you need it, I recommend it, and do it at a university hospital. Otherwise, absolutely do not do it!
