Ever since the Allergan textured implant issue a few years ago, I had been worried about the condition of my implant. While looking for a hospital that carefully checks with ultrasound, I came to know The W Clinic, and after that I got regular checkups every year. Through those checkups, Dr. Kim Jae-hong carefully examined the ultrasound every time, which built trust, and seeing that he consistently continued research and papers related to implants made me trust him even more. So when I started thinking about removing the Allergan implant, I did not look into other hospitals separately and went ahead with The W Clinic. The surgery was implant removal and total capsulectomy. I also liked that, just like my first surgery, it was done through an axillary incision, so there was only one scar. The surgery itself was not as painful as I had expected. However, during recovery I had seroma symptoms in my left breast, so every time I went to the hospital, the doctor checked the condition and handled the compression management and treatment well, and over time it was naturally absorbed. The right side, which did not have seroma, regained movement relatively quickly without major discomfort. Personally, not long after the surgery I also had a separate operation because of a clavicle fracture, so it took about two months before I could fully raise my arms overhead. After removing the implant, the upper breast volume decreased and the shape on both sides changed a little from before, but I think of it as a gradual recovery process over time. The biggest change I feel in daily life is that my body feels so much more comfortable. No matter how I sleep, there is no pressure, and lying on my stomach is not uncomfortable. In the past, there were times in winter when my breasts felt cold, but now I do not feel that anymore. Above all, the biggest relief is that I do not have to worry about the implant anymore.
