Eye Surgery Reviews

Review after consulting for double eyelid revision

I had incision + inner corner surgery at a local clinic 5 years ago. At first, everyone said it looked natural, but over time it started to loosen more and more, visibly. So I had been thinking about revision surgery for a few years, and since the end of last year I made up my mind and went around for consultations!

Right now, one side of the line has almost come undone, and not much of my iris is showing, so my eyes look sleepy. I also had inner corner surgery, but I still have an epicanthal fold, so my eyes feel a bit cramped.

Jㅇㅈㅇ (Korean, consultation fee x) Dr. R I went at the scheduled time, but had to wait about 10 minutes. Counselor - doctor - counselor. I actually talked longer with the doctor than with the counselor. He kept redrawing the line several times and asking what I thought, explained in detail that my skin is thick so the incision method is right for me, and that even though I had canthoplasty, the distance between my brows is still relatively wide, so doing upper canthoplasty together with inner corner surgery would make my eyes look more refreshed, and so on. The counselor and I talked about cost and scheduling, and when I mentioned the date I wanted, there was a bit of pressure, like being told it would be better to make a reservation. If you book and then cancel, there is a minimum cancellation fee, but the overall price range seemed reasonable, so I left after paying a deposit. Aftercare is 1 year.

ㅇㅇㄴㅋ (consultation fee x) Dr. ㅇ It looked like the whole building was used by the clinic. I consulted with the counselor on the 2nd? 3rd? floor, went downstairs to see the doctor separately, then went back up to see the counselor again. As soon as the doctor saw me, he mentioned my eye condition and the concerns I had, and said that if we do it this way, I can definitely get the eyes I want, and that it isn’t a difficult surgery so it should go well. So the time with the doctor was short, about 5 minutes, and after that I talked with the counselor for a long time. Starting with the surgical method, they showed me a few case photos, and the price was not on the cheap side, but they tried to adjust it to my situation as much as possible and lower it by applying a review discount. Also, they really emphasized aftercare here. They said that even if I do not have the surgery at their clinic, I should go to whichever place provides aftercare well. Aftercare was 3 years, and they emphasized that the doctor would personally and carefully monitor the progress and treatment. The deposit was 100,000 won, and they said it would be fully refunded if I canceled, so I put down the deposit for now to fix the date.

ㄱㄹㅂ (consultation fee x) Dr. ㅂ The waiting area was fairly spacious. Counselor - doctor - counselor. The counselor had a modest style. First, there was a picture with each line shape numbered, and I think that was nice. It let me say, for example, that the line I want is number so-and-so. The wait to see the doctor was a bit long. I knew the doctor had experience, and maybe because of that he was very clear about what could and could not be done, and he seemed confident too. I asked about things I was curious about, and when we were finishing up, he said that if I end up doing it, I will do my best, which built trust. I talked again with the counselor about cost and aftercare, and there was a bit of waiting because the counselor had to step out for something urgent and come back. Overall, it felt busy. The price was on the high side, but a review discount was applied. It was still a bit of a burden, but I put down a 10% deposit for now since they said it would be fully refundable.

ㅇㅁㄹ (consultation fee x) Dr. ㄷ This was the last consultation. I was about 10 minutes late for my appointment, so there was inevitably some waiting, and the consultation ended up happening about 30 minutes after the original appointment time. It seemed like they used three floors for consultation reception, operating rooms, and recovery rooms. While I was waiting, there were many people coming in and out, including people going to recovery after surgery and people coming back for post-op checkups. The consultation with the counselor was nothing special, and since the doctor had just finished surgery, I waited about 5 minutes before seeing him. He redrew the line 2-3 times and showed me how it would look if I had canthoplasty, then gave a firm answer that this is an eye that can be done. I liked that. In terms of cost, this place was also on the high side, but a review discount was possible. However, there were no available slots for the date I wanted, so I said I would think it over until this week and contact them, and did not place a deposit.

Besides these, I also went to ㅁㅊㅍ, ㅌㅇㅅ, and ㅇㅇㄹㅅ, but for now I’m narrowing it down and deciding between these four where I wrote the reviews.
