I had surgery at this clinic recently, and there are a few things I need to point out, so I am leaving a new review.
1. Problems with the manager: The tall manager with prominent cheekbones has a very bad personality. I think she is trying to be kind in her own way, but this job does not seem suited to her. It was the first time I had ever seen a clinic that tells you to wash your face before surgery but does not even provide a headband, and then the clinic staff just chat at the desk. And while chatting, she would get irritated freely, so I do not think she has the basics of a consultation manager. The remarks she tossed out to please the patient instead made me feel worse. If communication is a problem and service work does not suit you, find something else. Also, as someone who runs a shop after doing sales myself, I have to say this: you should not negotiate prices like that.
2. Hygiene problems: People who know will know. Plastic surgery clinics usually have a separate sink for washing your face. They do not make you wash your face in the bathroom like a hair salon does. This clinic makes you wash your face in the restroom where other people are peeing. Even the hand cleanser was an empty container lol. Seeing that, I thought maybe I should just leave without surgery.
3. Problems with the director's consultation: If you look at famous plastic surgery clinics, the director usually has a computer in the consultation room and shows reference photos or does CT scans to give a professional consultation.
This clinic has none of that, just a single mirror, and the director's consultation is not very kind either. He only gives vague explanations like this will become like that, and when I asked in detail, he responded with a slight edge of irritation. He seemed extremely confident in his surgical method. This may be an advantage or a disadvantage depending on the patient's characteristics.
Of course, CT scans or 3D surgery examples are not something you can blindly trust, but it was not a consultation worth 10,000 won in fees, and after deciding on surgery and paying, I met the director once more... hmm... his personality seemed a bit different before and after payment haha..
Overall review: The three points above are only the most noticeable drawbacks. The choice of surgery is ultimately up to you. Even with those issues, why did I choose this clinic? Because I heard many people say they are almost top-tier for male noses, and I also saw many successful cases around me. Even after the third surgery, they only made a slightly upturned nose, and I needed alar base lowering, so I looked for a doctor who is good at straight noses and produces good alar base lowering results, and that is why I chose this clinic. I decided on surgery thinking that the three issues above did not matter as long as the result was good (I learned about the hygiene issue only on the day of surgery, and it startled me;;)
The result is... I like it. I now have a straight nose, and if the swelling fully goes down and there is no inflammation, it is beautiful enough that I could finish with my nose here. Mijak Clinic has very little material on its website, and even what is there is several years old, so I understand why everyone would hesitate. If you ask me whether they are good or bad at surgery, it is not easy for a non-specialist, with only the title of being the sibling of a not-very-famous celebrity, to run a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam for more than 10 years. That kind of place can only survive with word of mouth and skill. Even around my father, there are many doctor acquaintances who opened plastic surgery clinics in Gangnam and then moved on to boutique specialty clinics. Skill can be proven through experience, so you do not need to worry too much about specialist versus non-specialist. For my nose, the first priority was just a little-known local clinic, and from the second to the third surgery, specialists ruined it.
This is good for people like this: those who want to finish their nose with rib cartilage, want a straight nose, and have a upturned nose. Those who care more about the result than small things like hygiene, manager attitude, or director attitude. You will be satisfied with the result. I am also very, very satisfied with the result.
Also, there is an advantage to Mijak Clinic: as long as you pay only the material and anesthesia fees, aftercare is unlimited. And for those tired of slightly upturned noses, Mijak does straight noses well. I acknowledge them as top-tier for male noses. Also, there are no brokers. Honestly, there are way too many people who look like brokers, and the Babitalk and Gangseo apps are basically broker holy grounds, but I almost never saw brokers at Mijak.
