They do the consultation based on CT and photos, and while drawing the nose shape on the photos, they explained in very fine detail why certain parts should be done a certain way, the angles of the nose, and so on. It was the most trustworthy consultation I’ve had so far. During the consultation, I felt like this was where I should get it done, so after that appointment I canceled the other consultations I had scheduled, put down the deposit, and set the surgery date.
Day of surgery I’d seen some reviews saying people woke up in the middle of surgery, so I was nervous and asked the nurse, and she said that wouldn’t happen, which put me completely at ease. Once anesthesia started, I closed my eyes and when I opened them again, the surgery was over! Things like removing nasal hair were all done after anesthesia, so the only pain in the operating room was from the IV insertion. After surgery, more than pain, my throat was just extremely dry, and gargling helped a bit. Also, since I had liposuction as well, they had put on a compression bandage, but I couldn’t breathe through my nose and I couldn’t open my mouth well, so that was really hard... When I got home, I ended up taking off the compression bandage and sleeping; if I hadn’t, I honestly felt like I might have suffocated. I turned on a humidifier, put a cup of water by the side of the bed, and kept waking up every 30 minutes to 1 hour to drink water, then going back to sleep until the day was over.
Day 1 after surgery (nasal packing removal + antibiotic injection) When they remove the nasal packing, they say, “Open your mouth,” and I ended up going like, “Aaaagh.” It felt like when water gets into your nose and it stings, but much more intense.. The nurse said there was still a silicone support inside and the nasal mucosa was swollen, so even after removing it, it would be hard to breathe through my nose for a while. Right after the packing was removed, it felt so refreshing, but if I breathed through my nose, it burned so much that I ended up breathing through my mouth lol. Then before long, my nose would be blocked again My face still wasn’t very swollen or anything There was some pain, but not extremely severe pain, more like a sharp, tingling feeling? On Day 1 as well, I repeated the cycle of waking every 30 minutes to 1 hour, drinking water, sleeping, and repeating.
Day 2 after surgery A little swelling started to appear under the eyes Other than occasional sharp tingling, there was no pain The cheek liposuction area only hurt a little when touched
Day 3 after surgery I still couldn’t breathe well through my nose, but it was much better than the first day It was fascinating whenever it opened up for a moment and I could breathe through my nose I was worried because people usually say swelling gets worse on Day 3, but there wasn’t much swelling They removed the bandage from the cheek liposuction area, and there was a slight greenish bruise near the left jawline, but the swelling wasn’t severe Compared with the first day, my sleep quality seemed to be gradually improving, but I still kept waking up thirsty and repeating the same pattern
Day 4 after surgery I woke up with pain across my whole face in the morning It seemed like the side where the ear cartilage was taken from had been pressed while I was sleeping I thought the swelling wasn’t that bad, but when I looked in the mirror in the morning, there was quite a bit of swelling around the lower face It was still uncomfortable to breathe through my nose
Day 5 after surgery At some point, my nose opened up. It felt like I finally got a full, deep sleep breathing through my nose for the first time since the surgery. My nose still gets blocked sometimes, but being able to breathe through my nose again like before surgery makes me so happy. Breathing through my mouth was much harder than I expected It’s like my chest stayed constantly tight... And until yesterday, my runny nose kept flowing, but now it hardly runs at all!! Sometimes the inside of the splint gets extremely itchy
Day 6 after surgery Sometimes the nose area feels tight, but there’s no real pain The swelling... the lower cheeks are quite swollen, so my face looks square
Day 7 after surgery (splint removal + removal of internal nasal support + stitch removal + swelling laser) When they removed the external stitches on my nose, it only stung a little Removing the splint hurt so much It really felt like my nose was being torn off After the internal nasal support was removed, I could really breathe again, which felt amazing After the splint came off, they said there was still some bruising and that the swelling around the nose was still fairly significant. They also said there was a lot of swelling in the cheek area, so the line would probably show after about a month. They said they used 3 mm silicone for the nose, ear cartilage for the nasal tip, and septal cartilage for the nasal support For the facial liposuction, they removed about 5 cc per side When I got home, it seemed like the swelling had gone down more, but my glabella was still quite swollen like an avatar. Still, I love the line so much, and now that my nose is more defined, my eyes somehow look clearer too I thought about it for a long time, and I’m really glad I did it!
