They recommended donor rib cartilage plus silicone. There were three coordinators first, and all of them had incredibly beautiful noses that were exactly my ideal.. They were very pretty noses, but I could not tell whether they had been operated on or not.. They all said they had theirs done here. But one of them seemed to have very severe rhinitis. I had a CT scan, and they said my septum was too small, so I should use donor rib cartilage. When I asked whether ear cartilage would not work, they said it was not impossible, but it would be difficult to shape, and that using donor rib cartilage would produce a perfectly pretty result. When I asked whether autologous costal cartilage would work, they said the resorption rate differed by only 2%, speaking as if worrying about that 2% was overreacting. To my ears, it sounded like: “I cannot handle something difficult like harvesting my own rib, so I should use donor rib cartilage, which is larger than soft, small ear cartilage and easier to shape, so the surgery can be finished easily and quickly.” The aftercare period is only one year. When I asked how many patients with capsular contracture they had treated, they said there had been almost none since opening this clinic, though there might have been some at the hospital where they worked before.
