곡샘 — Review

I had surgery on December 30, 2020, at the end of last year, and I’m recovering very well without a single sign of inflammation. If you look at the post I wrote before on this community, you’ll know that repeated contracture and repeated reconstructive surgeries caused the cartilage inside to dissolve and drip down like pus, then my nose became deformed. Fortunately the inflammation stopped, but my nose contracted and breathing became so difficult that my wish was simply to be able to breathe comfortably again, even more than caring about appearance. I kept thinking it would be my last surgery, but the inflammation kept recurring, and I became physically and mentally exhausted. I started thinking maybe I wouldn’t be able to get up from the operating table if I had reconstructive surgery again, and maybe it would be fine just to live like this. After thinking it was the last chance, I spent three years looking for a reconstructive specialty hospital. Even at famous hospitals they said it was difficult and turned me away, and when they were too confident I couldn’t really trust them. Then I met Goksaem, who realistically suggested what could be improved and recommended not rushing the surgery, but instead proceeding safely in stages rather than trying to get the result all at once. That made me trust them even more, so I decided to have the surgery and went through with it. I left a post here before too, but there weren’t many people posting long-term results, so I’m leaving an additional post. Goksaem is still exactly the same, and these days I go to the hospital once a month or once every two months instead of once or twice a week. From dressing changes to detailed follow-up consultations and future plans, everything is checked carefully, so it feels like visiting a familiar neighbor. The nurses too haha. Even at the time of consultation, I was already prepared for second and third surgeries because I was told the surgery would need to be done in stages, but even the first surgery was this satisfying. First of all, being able to breathe through my nose is ㅠㅠㅠ Even so, because there is still not enough skin, they couldn’t align the positions of both nostrils perfectly, so a second surgery is planned for next February. I’ve experienced how severe my condition was and that there is no one-shot solution, so I’m always grateful to Goksaem for taking such careful care of me. I don’t want them to become too famous, but I know how desperate people like me are, and how badly people with extremely difficult noses need this, so I’m writing this post :)
